How Serious Do You Take Your Gaming?

I don't think that I am that serious when it comes to gaming. I mean, yes, I like to win and get missions and levels completed but I don't have a heart attack if I lose or anything like that. The only time that I may REALLY want to win is when I am not playing against the computer, and I am playing against someone that I know in real life - like a friend or a family member. Then I like to win at any and all costs lol. But still, I don't get angry or deeply upset if I do not win, unlike the behavior that I have witnessed of other people, namely friends.

In a rage over losing a mission - which then can simply just restart again, might I add - they'll throw things, like the controller or other things that are within grasp. It is funny at first , but I think that it is a little bit over the top. Gaming can be very frustrating at times, but ultimately it is supposed to be about fun, not having to repair things lol.

How serious do you get when it comes to your gaming?

I'm not going to lie, I can get pretty heated up at times. Many times I just rage when losing a League Play match on Black Ops 2. I'm pretty sure I have lost five years of my life due to that game alone. I've destroyed two controller from trashing and bashing it at things. I don't really consider myself to be one of those "tryhard" dedicated gamers that lose their cool every two seconds, but there are times when I do.

I used to take it pretty seriously, but lately it is a fleeting passion of mine. No longer do I rage quit or become upset. I like winning, I play to win, but I do not care to lose. The last time I truly got upset with a game was when I was playing an older version of Maddena five or six years. Players online kept exploiting a glitch in the fourth quarter. One day I just could not take it any longer and threw my controller. That was a long time ago; I am much more mature now.

Last time i was got buttfrustrated was when i was playing Soul Calibur V and the computer decided to cheat his way for 3 consecutive matches. Of course i punched the table. It's hard to get me mad, but when i end up mad, things get bad.

Not that much, I mean I do concentrate a lot when I'm playing, but i always keep in mind that I'm playing for fun and there's nothing to be mad about. I love to win and get the highest scores and I always go for it instead of whining and getting mad :)

I get gamer-mad, but I don't let it affect me in real life. Because it's never real; it's always just a game. I can never take it seriously unless I were playing for money.

Barring a period of one or two months when I was gaming a lot and rather passionately too, I don't think I've ever completely lost it while playing. While playing if somebody is being annoying I mostly just ignore them. Gaming is for fun after all, if you start getting angry over things then it takes some of the fun out.

Thankfully I have yet to run into any League of Legend esque trash-talk, i.e. screaming.

Right now I'd say I am pretty serious about it mainly because the patch in World of Warcraft just hit and we're progressing to heroic with a guild is neck in neck behind us. Last patch though,no not really.we were so far ahead in front of all the guilds and stayed as server first guild the entire patch. I don't get angry or upset though, I just go 'oh man, that sucks'

In my late teens and early twenties my gaming was very serious in the Playstation age, I bought and 100% completed 2 to 4 games a month usually and would constantly be playing head to head Madden and NCAA tournaments for money with my friends. I remember compiling a 267-4 record on NCAA 2003 using Notre Dame, those were the days.

But since I hit my thirties and had two children, I still love gaming I just do not have the time I once did to play so I am more like a 1 game a month now instead of 4.

I get that every single time I play a match. It's great to see people rage from you destroying them every time. Honestly, I think it livens up the game to make it more enjoyable. I guess that applies universally to all games.

I am a still an avid gamer. I like playing games with challenging levels and storylines. I always play games of those types so that I never get bored with gaming in general.

Freaking out about games is something that has dwindled over time with me. It's been a few years (at least) since I've actually screamed when something undesirable happened in a video game. I used to freak out: curse very loudly (to the point where neighbors in close proximity of my house would be able to easily hear me, but that's not something I knew at the time), throw stuff and hit stuff. Pretty f***ing stupid behavior looking back on it, but at least it's stopped.

I can get really upset when I lose. I was worse when I was younger. I used to occasionally toss controllers out of anger. I still get heated sometimes, but don't ever toss controllers. Things are a little different now that I have to buy all of this stuff myself. Also, as an adult their are a lot worse things that can happen than losing at a video game.

Hey Dreek :)
I tend to be a semi competitive gamer who doesnt really like losing. I love having fun but when someone does me wrong by trolling somehow, it just really makes me determined to win. I think i just want things to be perfect and when it isnt i try harder to make it

I don't take it seriously to be honest, but I am a hardcore gamer who never misses any RPG or FPS games.

I can sometimes get lost in a game and forget the time and everything else. I have gotten better, but I still gsme almist every chance I get. I even play games on my smartphone. My sister gets annoyed with me about that but there are just so many good games out there, and I have to play them :). I do make time to eat and go to the bathroom , but I am back on my game afterwards.

I only take it seriously when I find the game to be really good. Most of the time, I'd probably be best described as a casual gamer. I don't even get too excited with new game releases, even for titles that I kind of like. I think I'm too specific when it comes to games, but I do still appreciate most of them and I still find them quite fun.

Im pretty normal when it comes to console games. But pc games, i go super saiyan. I have a i7 4770k 2 GTX Titan's 27" 2560x1440 monitor and 24 gb ram.
