Where's the best place to buy retro games online? (PS1, SNES, etc.)

Funny thing how i never seen the second one around here. Maybe it never was released in Europe? I loved the first and third one, even if they had their problems.

But seriously, the best think you can do is just search for sales around you, markets that sell used goods, everything online is too expensive.

Amazon, probably. Although $40 for a used PSX game is expensive. I buy retro and older generation games at TNT Games. Your best bet however, if you want to save money, is to just look around at garage sales and thrift stores.

I admire that you want to get a game legally. But why not just download an emulator and download ROMs for it at ...mod edit..links removed... You could find almost every old game that you are looking for on platforms like the PS1, SNES, NES, etc.

Wii has the Virtual Console, giving you access to a gigantic library of retro Nintendo games. I've used it to play quite a few games on the cheap.

For PS1 games the options appear to be much more slim. Try eBay or Amazon, you will get a good deal if you don't mind shelling out a little extra for shipping. And of course there are always emulators.

Do you need any programming skills to run emulators, or is it relatively simple?

These days it is as simple as downloading the emulator, downloading the ROM, opening the emulator, file > open > ROM, play. Are we allowed to discuss this kind of material on the board though?

We can discuss,no harm in that and I have removed the links given above to rom sites as we all know that downloading roms is a no no unless you own them yourself. :o
So if you looking for roms AND actually have those games please just use google.

Oops, sorry for that Oberon...

Anyway, it's true that using emulators are very easy especially the emulators for retro Nintendo consoles. However, the emulators for PS1 and PS2 are a bit more complex because you will be required to get some bios files and configure their settings like video settings and the like. But still, these are all pretty easy to set up.

You just gotta shop around. Sometimes Amazon is cheaper, sometimes ebay is cheaper. Craigslist is worth checking too. Still, you are generally going to find the cheapest prices in person at flea markets or yard sales.

You can get some pretty good deals on retro games at ebay. I know they don't have all of them, but they do have a good selection of games at reasonable prices. You can also check ou Amazon although you would probably get cheaper at ebay if you don't mind having to bid on a game in an auction.

I've been looking for a copy of Digimon World 2, but I don't want to spend an exorbitant amount of money for it.

Just curious, is that the game where the Digimon walk around and poop? I remember playing a Digimon game like that on the PSX back in the day. I would love to track it down as well.
