Xbox Live vs. Playstation Network

What do you think about the Xbox Live network compared to the PS Network? I definitely think that the PSN is much better, especially since it's free to access things like Netflix and to play online. An advantage of Xbox, I suppose, is that it wasn't hacked.

I have never used Xbox Live since I don't have an Xbox, but I wouldn't be caught dead paying a monthly fee to play games. Online play doesn't hold enough of a draw to seep money from my pocket each month. I would say I prefer PSN simply for the fact that it's free. After the attacks though, I will no longer be using my credit card on PSN.

I have not used my credit card on PSN since the attack either and I am a lot more careful about where I actually do use it. I still think PSN is a lot better than Xbox though. It's free and I like the layout better.

I think Xbox Live is a lot better than PlayStation Network. For one, it was not hacked. This means email and credit card information is more secure with the Xbox servers. Also, I prefer the layout of Xbox Live than PSN. It is easier to figure out, is appealing to the eye, and is much easier in my opinion to get a match started when in a hurry.

I prefer XBL over PSN for various reasons. For one, it is user friendly. I don't have to spend five minutes figuring out how to set up a game to play with friends.

To me, both are just as good as each other. But oddly, I find myself playing online on the Xbox 360 and I play offline-single player games on the PS3. I like the simplicity of Xbox Live and I have friends on there. Don't get me wrong, the PSN is great too, it's just I've been with Xbox longer and have grown more accustomed to Xbox Live. Still prefer the PS3 as a whole, but Xbox Live (as Viper said) is more user-friendly. Hopefully the PS4 turns this around and I'm sure it will.

Well both kick but from my experience but XBOX Live users tend to be ruder in most cases. I've seen a few rude people on Playstation network. But on X-BOX Live, it's like a Nascar race meets a UFC fight meets a South Dakota bar.

I think Xbox Live is worth it. Sure the PlayStation Network is free but think about how many problems they have with hacking and the network being unsecured, remember when everyone's banking details got out last year? Xbox Live has never really had any issues like that, it is a relatively flawless and high quality way of playing online. We are paying for quality, PlayStation users aren't, therefore don't really get it.

I have to agree here the xbox live experience is much better than the PS Network. I hope that this is something that sees improvement when they launch the PS4, it will be hard to compete especially since xbox is already so well known for their online gameplay.

For me, Xbox Live is horrible, and this is coming from a person that tried it out for 6 months. First, paying for online in this day and age. Second, lack of deals whatsoever. Third, ads EVERYWHERE.

So you want more coupons basically? Microsoft are greedy fks. They'll never offer more coupons. Their operating systems are insanely priced as well. Nothing surprises me about their products.

I hope they improve significantly, I know with rumours that the next Xbox will have to always be connected to the Internet or its unplayable will make a lot of people switch over to PlayStation 4. I've had a few friends say this and purely because they are all going I will probably get the PS4 as well.

Microsoft say it is connected all the time to improve matchmaking in online gaming its supposed to help the system learn and refine the multiplayer experience and for cloud to sync and improve the system I'm not too sure about this ps4 makes use of the cloud but it not connected all the time I think it's touch of big brother from microsoft maybe to try and discourage modding and piracy .
