I have to admit, I was a little skeptical when I first heard about this and saw the screenshots, but the new ones seem promising. I hope they do this for FF8 someday, that one's my favorite. For now, I'm sharing this here so FF10 fans can rejoice. :)

More Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Screens

Square Enix has released another set of screenshots for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. The screens are low resolution, but further tweaks and changes to the character models can be seen, as well as some of the Aeons from Final Fantasy X

The game is dated for December 26th in Japan, while the localised release is set to release sometiime this 'Winter'.

It looks great so far and I want to get the Vita version. The only thing that has bothered me is Tidus' face in that same screenshot you posted. What the hell happened? He looks like a baby doll.

I liked Final Fantasy X a lot, but I never finished it. It's been a really long time, though, so I may enjoy it more if I played it again now. It does look really good, and I have to say that I'm on board with HD re-releases of cl***ic games in general.

I love FF X and will probably play this at some point. Still, am I the only one that thinks some of the emotion is lost in the HD picture? Maybe it's just me.

I can't understand why they would want to remaster a game that was released on the PS2 rather than on the PS1. It would make much more sense if they remaster FF 7, 8 or 9 because you would really see the huge leap in the graphics. Or maybe Square is just lazy because the games on the PS1 are harder to remaster or remake than those on the PS2.

Exactly lindberg.

I mean don't get me wrong, anything looks good on the PS, but this was a waste of time and if they were going for nostalgia, they picked the wrong game.

This looks promising! Although honestly, I was not a big fan of the FFX series, I will admit that these screens look great! I might be getting it in the future. Thanks for sharing! I can't wait.

That looks pretty good! The only thing that kills me with final fantasy games is the turn based fighting. I cant seem to get used to turn based fighting

While I don't mind FFX/X-2 being given the remastered treatment, I'm puzzled as to why Square Enix picked FFX/X-2 out of the many FF games which should be remastered for the PS4. There's the PS1 FF's which have been languishing for quite some time, and either Square Enix simply pretends that those games don't even exist, or it just doesn't have the time to remaster them due to constraints in time and resources.

Here's a comparison pic:

HD is at the top of course while the blurry one is the PS2 screenshot at the bottom... When they say remastered, it's just like they're applying a new coat of paint by making things look clearer and crisper. It's like they just photoshoped it and smoothed out the wrinkles and blemishes. Oh well, I won't be getting it.

Some screenshots floating around might be from early on, if I'm not mistaken, so this might be one of them, the other ones on the site I provided seem a lot better, but it may just be for me.

As for remastering old games, maybe this was a little easier to port, since it's more advanced graphics and closer to current standards. Hopefully they do it for the PS1 games soon too, though, I agree.
