Are there any free games on the playstation network

Will the playstation network be available for free for a period of time for ps4 users and will there be any free games

There are going to be free games and they will be free to play. You won't need a to be a PS+ subscriber to play them online.

Also I believe you will get 1 week or 2 free PS+ too.

Actually for US and Canada (not sure other regions at the moment) at least it seems you get these included in the PS4 box:

30-day free PlayStation Plus membership trial (only for NEW subscribers)
30-day free Music Unlimited service trial (only for NEW subscribers)

I can not stress this enough, if you get a PS3, PS4 or vita, you would WANT to be a PSN plus member.
for $50 you will get your money's worth 10 times over.
I love my xbox360 but the PSN Plus crushes everything!

Like the poster above said with a PS4 purchase you will get a free 30 day Plus membership. Keep in mind you have to be a member to play the free games and once your membership expires the game will not play.
Also a note, if you are a Plus member you can re download any free Plus game you deleted from your Hard Drive.
I have a 250gb PS3 and have to do this monthly, delete games to load up more free games.

I'm really looking forward to the idea of there being free games for subscribing to the network. Fortunately, the free membership for 30 days means that I'll be able to try it out and see if it's worthwhile in order to decide if I want to keep paying for it.

I do hope that the fact that it's free for 30 days will mean the first 30 days have something good to offer to hook people in.

Of course there will be. It's already pretty official that there are free games on PSN right now for PS4 owners to play. And PSN always gives out freebies to their members, it's why I signed up for membership when I got my PS3. It's also why I'll be upgrading my membership to Plus very soon.

Right now they have 3 free titles available, DC Universe, Blacklight Retribution and Warframe.
