Tear jearking games

What are some games that made you cry?

For me it was to be Metal Gear Solid 4. That ending, after all these years of following the series, seeing how much Snake suffers at the end, indeed, that ending got me good.

Also, Nier, that game is just a wreck, and the soundtrack is enough to get me all teary.

Hrmm. Good question. I would probably say Red Dead Redemption and it's ending. Don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't go into details.

Heavy Rain was another one. Fantastic game but emotionally brutal at times.

Gears of War 3. But that one (*cough* Dom *cough*) scene.

Oh, Nier. That one got me on the *first* playthrough, but after replaying and seeing the multiple endings it just got more and more heart wrenching for me. By the end I had invested so much time into these characters, just to see everything fall through. The beautiful, sad music playing throughout the game and cutscenes just made it that much worse for me, too.

Heavy Rain was a sad one, especially on the playthroughs where I didn't make the best decisions and had 'bad' endings. That game really made you suffer the consequences of your choices and actions. Also, The Walking Dead by Telltale Games. The ending of that game just broke my heart... I won't post spoilers here in case anyone plans on playing it, but I will say that you can only prolong the inevitable for so long and when it finally comes, it's absolutely devastating.

OMG we played The Walking Dead adventure book type game from Telltale games. I teared up at several points and actually cried at the end. We had spent the entire weekend playing through all 5 episodes solid. I was an emotional wreck by Sunday night. Was well worth the time though, and really shouldn't be overlooked by anyone into this type of game.

In 100% agreement here, the Gears of War 3 Dom Scene was in my opinion one of the most tear jerking scenes in any game, at any time.

Hmm, I've played Heavy Rain before, but the scenes didn't seem emotional. Which part did you think was emotional? Was it at the end?

This sounds dumb, but after I finished COD4, after the epilogue, when the picture of TF141 shows up, I cried, same with MW2's picture at the end.

I honestly cannot remember because it was a while ago, but I do remember it being very emotional. Not to the point of tears though. I actually want to play through the game again, so I can let you know then ha.

The Mass Effect series has its moments, but it all depends on the player. I get very attached to characters that are well-written and utilized, so I get caught up in their affairs quite easily. I don't know if I would call them tearjerkers, exactly, but I got very emotionally invested in the games. I know a lot of people were disappointed by the ending, but I like to focus more on the entire series as a whole when I form an impression.

LA Noire, Mass Effect, and RDR. LA Noire got to me mostly because I felt like it.. never felt finite. RDR because it was just... the way it had to be, you couldn't of ended that game a happy way. That'd be like GOT ending in the first season, etc. And Mass Effect was a tearjerker not because of it ending, but because of HOW it ended. Everything I had put into it, every piece I had gone to lengths to make sure was correct, my character had done everything right, and it didn't really matter. It came down to what color, and final guy I decided to side with.
