Ever trade your games?

I don't trade in my games, I just prefer to keep them in my library. I have sold a few ones that I absolutely hated, but those tend to sit around for a while as well since I'm assuming not many people would like them or are just not familiar enough with the title to want it. I do, however, trade with my friends, as that keeps the cost of all of our game expenditure to a minimum, but ultimately all the games go back to the rightful owner within the circle.

I don't trade them in, nor do I sell them on ebay. I personally just trade them for different games on ebay that I want, now I don't have to sell it and then buy another game with it. I just do it instantly by trading, it is very handy if you have alot of games lying around.

I used to sell games on Craigslist for 10-15 bucks more than Amazong said they were worth. Usually Call of Duty games go for 40 bucks 2 years after release so I just based it on how popular the game is. Now-a-days, I only download games or share them with friends or even half digital games. It's awesome and you don't have to worry about losing the game, breaking it or scratches. It's always on your account. So, no I don't trade/sale games anymore.

I haven't traded games at EB/GameStop since 2005. I think the last time I went to a GameStop was 2007 to get a nunchuck for my Wii since I was so eager to get one and didn't want to wait on Amazon.
...should've just gone with Amazon. It was still a solid nunchuck, but I could've gotten it for less (S&H and the price) that I paid at GameStop for it. I normally just sell through Amazon, haven't tried eBay although I have bought through the site. When I do sale it's usually sports titles (which you get nothing for really) and shooters.
It's basically what Nightmonkey said, you have to trade early with stores--like before the week is over.

I never trade games in at local game shops (they pay terribly!) but I do sell batches of unused games on eBay from time to time. I don't see much point in hoarding games that won't ever get used, though I do save some special games (mainly ones that I come back to again and again).
I occasionally 'trade' games with friends, but it's more a case of borrowing from each other. We always trade back eventually.

I did a few in-store game trade-ins in the past, one that got me a decent bargain is at Best Buy when I sold Black Ops to get some store credit to make buying a Zune HD a bit easier.
I didn’t regret it too much since I love my Zune HD, but I managed to get Black Ops through a friend who didn’t need it anymore (he was already into Black Ops 2). When I attempted to sell some GameCube and older console games at GameStop, getting a few quarters and dollars turned me off completely, but I was desperate at the time. In hindsight, it was a bad call to let my impulses take control. I had a better chance selling through personal contacts and sites like Craigslist and EBay.
As for trade-ins with friends, I did that ages ago, but always hated how they wanted to drag on my generosity.

Yes, I do it all the time!
I save up lots of money and make use of the games I don't play anymore, it's a great deal in my opinion.

I did trade-ins with friends a long time ago. Those were in the days where most of has Nintendo 64 and it was no problem to trade a cart.
...like seriously, you could trade it and get it back in the condition you traded it. Your friend would've had to have either threw it down with force or dunked it in water to ruin a cartridge. I never traded PS games because that was asking for your stuff to come back scuffed and a cracked jewel case.
As far dragging my generosity, I remember in 7th grade a friend of mine decided it was funny to hold on to my Zelda: OoT cartridge (which I still have) after I returned his Excite Bike 64 (fun game, but not an even trade). We got into fisticuffs over it after I chased him. I stopped trading at that point.

Yea i really dont trade my games in. Im not against people making a profit, but when they offer me 14 dollars for a game, saying noone will buy it and then turn around and sell it for 60, i just feel played.
Id rather keep the game for later if its like that.

I use to trade in my games to GameStop because of the big PowerUp Rewards deal they have. I don't trade my games into B&M stores anymore though, not with what you get for them are like pennies to the dollar that won't even knock off 1/4 of another game. I just got tired of having to bring in a pile of games that I paid a premium for just to get enough money for another one. I've been using 99gamers, reddit and Craigslist more recently since someone can actually use those to just trade game for game. That way I can get a better value while picking what games to get in return.

I always trade in my old ones at Gamestop, unless it's something really memorable I know for sure I'll play again. Otherwise it's just wasting self space. I pretty rarely replay singleplayer games I bought.

I stopped trading in my games a few years back and started to give them to people I knew. No point in trading in a new game that I just finished for less than $20.

Nope, I've never bothered with memberships and trading games, it's such a waste of time and you wont get much at all for anything.
What I do do sometimes if I'm desperate for money is sell my games on Ebay or over Craigslist/Facebook groups. At least you earn a bit more this way and you don't have to go through all the hassle of trading it in stores or anything like that.

Yeah, I agree. I tried to trade in some games at Gamestop the other day and I couldn't believe that the guy was being serious about the prices. I even asked if he was joking, because I honestly thought he was. I haven't had much luck with reselling my games either. I usually just try to donate them to kids that need them more than me.

Generally what we'll do is list our games up on Craigslist for our desired price, and if they aren't gone by the time some big, new, shiny title comes out, we'll trade them in in order to lower the price.
As to those who say they like to keep them in their library, I can't imagine doing that! We get rid of our games so quickly after we feel like we've completed them and have gotten all the replay value we can. We don't like clutter, and it's getting to be an age where any "discs" laying around are clutter.

I usually just sell them, but maybe on Craigslist they can make a bit more money. I'll try that next time.
