Xbox Congratulates Sony On PS4 Launch

Isn't this nice? I definitely wasn't even expecting anything like it, I didn't think it was necessary but they still did it, so I think it's a pretty nice gesture. However, I'm sure some would argue it's just a PR move, and I'd agree, but I think it's both.

Awww lol! That is pretty nice of them. It is a bit weird though, I can't tell if they are being genuinely nice or if there's some hidden psychological reason for them doing this? Maybe people who were considering jumping ship to the PS4 will stay with XBOX because they feel bad?

That was actually a really good move by Microsoft.
It shows sympathy for the opponent and "fair play".

...or an attempt to keep gamers from pulling over the car while blindly swatting at the backseat and saying "Xbox One, you stay on your side and PS4 you stay on your side! Don't make me pull over this car!"

This. They're competitors. While competing you can be as fierce as needed as long as its ethical.

When its all said and done everyone at Microsoft AND Sony are people. Launching a console is an amazing feat, one that deserves congratulations. Who better to congratulate you than someone who knows exactly how big of a feat it is, your competitor. Its ok to mutually respect and even like your competitor, you still compete fiercely though.

Why I didn't see this coming. I'm actually really pleased to see Microsoft show some classiness because I doubt that Sony would have. Especially in light of all the trolling that Sony has done, least we forgot the awesome how to Share your games vid that Sony did. So the fact that Microsoft did such a nice thing is pretty surprising. Although I would kind of love it if underneath Microsoft was really saying that they wanted the PS4 to fail.

Lets look at this another way. Microsoft's biggest rivals released a console that seems to be bricking at an alarming rate. If you happen to have the good fortune to update without incident you can look forward to not playing online as that is another failure. Do you still think it is sincere? Not bashing Sony. I picked up 2 systems and no problems with either other then the online. That is not a big deal as I bought KZ Knack and AC4 and am happy for now playing the single player and getting a feel for the games.

After hearing about the bricking consoles and remembering Microsoft's congrats, it could come off as a bit snarky. Like Nintendo says that PS4 and Xbox One's launches are great for everyone and Sony says it needs Nintendo to be successful for the sake of the industry...which makes sense if you look at it in a Goku teaming up with Piccolo kind of way.

...then Sony is walking off with its tray of mystery meat and potato scoop only for Microsoft to swat it up and out of his hands and say "Hey sorry...carry trays much?"

Yeah it's a total PR move but it's still pretty good of them. After all the Xbox One comes out soon and that launch needs to be flawless to make up for the months of bungling by Microsoft and there PR department. Well good karma has to be worth something.
