E-readers

I'm seriously thinking about making the transition from paper books to an E-reader, but there are so many choices out there. There's the Kindle - and there are 3 or 4 different versions of it - by Amazon, the Nook by Barnes and Noble, the IPad by Apple, and I think even Microsoft has one out now. Which E-reader would you recommend?

I know what you mean. There are many out there, it is hard to choose one! Both the Nook and Kindle were orginally made to just read books. I believe now, the Kindle has more capabilities. The iPad has the ability to go on the internet, and more or less has all capabilities of a computer. Just depends on what exactly it is you are looking for.

I love paper books. However, when traveling it can be a burden to carry these, as they can be heavy when loaded in bulk. I use an Amazon Kindle. It's the simple model, with no touchscreen and no keypad. I do really like this e-reader, as it features no backlight and appears like actual pages of a book. It is also very readable in bright sunlight. The device is so small, thin, light and portable that I can carry it in the front pockets of my jeans. It would be uncomfortable and very conspicuous, but it fits!

e-books are more convenient. You can store them on a mobile device and it's very easy and lightweight to carry around. I think the e-books are better in every single aspect other than the bigger text the paper books provide.

If you just want to try an e-reader, you can get a black-and-white Kindle first. It's pretty neat and it almost feels like browsing a real book. There are times when I get too immersed in reading and I forgot that I was holding an e-reader. I kept trying to flip the page like I would do in a real book until I realized that I just need to press the button to get to the next page. :D

I use my Nexus 7 Tablet as an E-Reader. I prefer it because I can use it as the reader if I want, but it also has the possibility to do so much more. They are relatively cheap compared to iPad's as well.

Nexus is also a good reader. Everything else is cheap when compared with iPad and other products from Apple. :)
