What is the Playstation Vita?

I have heard about the Vita but never really looked into it. What exactly is it? Is it like a new-age PSP

It's basically what PSP should have always been. PS2 style graphics and new elements of game play using social media and remote play. If you like PSP you're going to love the PS Vita. Shoot I play with my vita more than anything these days.

Its a great idea but its too small for me. I like everything about it except the size.

I think because of the big three (PS4, Wii U, and Xbox 1) people forget that there's a war of the hanhelds taking place too, between Sony and nintendo, the vita is the newest gen of Sony handheld game consels and is the predecessor to the PSP, just like the 3DS inherited the DS for nintendo.
