What do you consider Sony's "flagship" series?

Rather than a single flagship game, I think sony has a flagship arsenal. Uncharted, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Killzone, not even mentioning all the PSN games like Flow. Sony really does have a great range of exclusives that pack a punch.

Sony has plenty, Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Heavy Rain was awesome and most of their indie games that are only on PSN. I love indie games.

I would have said Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy but unless I'm mistaken those series are now both available on the Xbox also. So considering that I'm gonna have to go with Naughty Dog. It's no secret that Uncharted sold many units and now we have the Last of Us, a near perfect game to end the console cycle on. I'm certain that when looking back upon this generation those games stand taller than the rest.

I'd say the Metal Gear series, but now that Metal Gear Solid V is coming to the Xbox and Metal Gear Rising already being on it, I don't know what to think about that. It'd probably be something like Gran Turismo or Uncharted. If only the original PS1 games like Crash, Parappa, or Spyro could come back and bring everyone who doesn't think the newer systems are as great as the old ones back.

I would also love to say Metal Gear Solid series but that's as game that's well known and people love it but not something a lot of people tend to pay much attention to til a new one comes out.

I'd say God of War. When I think of an actual flagship title I look at something that could be enjoyed universally by casual gamers, retro gamers, and hardcore gamers--players of all ages and so on--and is a good ambassador for what the console is towards all audiences. God of War doesn't really fall in that category, but it is Sony's power title and has that seniority behind it.

God of war, Gran Turismo, and all of the Naughty Dog games. These are the games that I think of when I think of a Playstation. Naughty Dog really stepped up their game with The Last Of Us and set a really high bar for what can be achieved on old hardware.

God of War as flagship/THE franchise of Sony. As SpaceTiger said, it has the history behind it to actually be considered the flagship series. The Last of Us could be flagship in the future with sequels, but you don't get to be THE franchise off one game.

That's a good point, you actually need more than just one tremendous game to be the flagship. A great showing on a series debut put you in the blue chipper/future franchise position.

Gran Turismo, Metal Gear, and TWISTED METAL (kinda but not really). GT and Metal Gear I would say

Wait, wait, TWISTED METAL I would throw in as the old flagship series. I wish it still was their flagship title. Gran Turismo is the gatekeeper. It's always been there and holds stuff down should the supposed flagship drops the ball.

I think the Uncharted series would count heavily, basically anything Naughty Dog develops that's a major title is usually PS exclusive so yeah I'd consider Naughty Dog.
