Do you utilize the World Wide Web on the Playstation 3?

I've used my PS3 for YouTube and occasional browsing. It's not bad if you just need to look up something real quick, but not for chilling and looking at forums.

Oh I'd never look at forums via a console browser. It's too much of a hassle, really.

Yeah, I can honestly say that I have never tried browsing the web with any of my consoles. At this point in time, if you own a console, odds are that you have at least one computer/table/smartphone. Personally I think using any of these devices is easier than browsing the web on either main console, PS3/4 or Xbox.

I used it for a couple of times, and that was when the console was new, so my curiosity came into the situation. Nowadays, I just use my computer, because it's much faster.

I used it maybe one time but it's so clunky there's no reason to. Plus, I usually play my PS3 on my computer monitor, so it would be pointless. It's like the Wii browser that lost its appeal very quickly, but I guess if you needed to access the internet on your TV for some reason (which is becoming easier nowadays) it would be a good idea.

When it first came out I loved the feature and it was really helpful, but for the last few years I haven't used it at all. Last year I tried watching a show on it once so I wouldn't have to connect anything to the TV, but it ended up taking way too long and in the end I just gave up.

It's slow, tedious to use, and pretty much pointless considering I'll have my PC, laptop or phone next to me I can use faster.

I still think it's an awesome feature that's very useful for a lot of people who need to browse the internet and might not have a computer with them or whatever.

I agree. It's pretty awkward to use, especially compared to modern devices. I think it's still very comparable to how PSP's browser operated, since they were released in the same era, IIRC. Still, it's pretty handy as a backup. I usually just use it for background music from Youtube, but like you said, it's not very dependable nor convenient.

I use the web a lot actually. Although I used to use it more before I got my computer. It kinda sucked but you get used to it and it's limitations. Now I mainly just use it to watch streams of sporting events and stuff I can't get on TV, so that's pretty sweet.

I have a couple of times, but never really liked it. I am better off using my phone/laptop to use the internet. If I use my PS3, it's mainly for just playing games, nothing else.

I do. However this is mostly for quick minor internet searches where my Laptop would take too long to boot up.

Nah, I prefer my netbook for surfing the web, to be honest. It's just far more convenient. I don't really get what you're saying either, mainly because I'd never want to go on my blog or on Facebook while playing PS3.

Hell no. I tried using it once and it was extremely clunky and slow and I don't have a PS3 keyboard. I usually just use my PC or my tablet.

Its way too buggy and tempermental. My computer and phone are always nearby anyway so I'll just jump on that. Otherwise, I never use the browser for youtube since I downloaded the YouTube app for PS3.

In all the years I've had my PS3, I have never once hooked it up to the internet. Firstly, I wouldn't have a clue how to go about it or how to make it work. I wanted a games console – not a computer! Secondly, I don't (currently) have unlimited broadband access in order to spend hours online playing multiplayer games or watching streams – sucking away at the meagre megabyte/gigabyte (or whatever it is…) limit! I'd rack up my monthly usage limit in a matter of a week or two and it would have cost me an absolute fortune in the long run.

Unfortunately my ISP is BT. Whilst they're generally very reliable, they're stuck in the 90's by still having silly limits on most reasonably priced packages. You'd better be willing to re-mortgage the house and get their unlimited deal...

In my opinion no games console can compete with a decent laptop or PC when it comes to general browsing online.

Same as you. I used the browser to see videos and such because my console is at the leaving room and that's where the "big tv" is. hahah

I use my iPad mini or iPhone. Much easier then navigating and typing with a PS3 remote.

Yeah, it's so clunky that I'm surprised to see quite a few using it at all. It's only worthwhile if you want to stream videos on your TV or something, maybe...

I reckon all the major social networks will have apps eventually.

There'll be third party browsers even.

Without Flash, it's useless to me as I can't use my *cough*perfectly legitimate*cough* streaming sites.

Why wouldn't you? The internet is the most powerful tool in the world and I wouldn't have half of what I have if I hadn't learned how to master it.
