There was never a doubt as to which console I was purchasing. I owned both a xbox 360 and several ps3s and preferred the PS over the xbox for several reasons. Ever since launch, everry time im in a store I check out inventories of both consoles. The PS4 ALWAYS seems to be out of stock. And there seem to ALWAYS be a huge stock of the ONEs. I know the latest sales figures say they are pretty equal... 2 Mil for the Xbox and 2.1 Mil for the PS4, but i think inventory is a more accurate assessment. This could however be regional.

I do run in to the same situation like you as in stores are all out of PS4s and plenty of Xboxes lying around. My guess would be maybe because of the price tag of the Xbox is higher. Like me, I don't like motion sensor devices and the fact that I'm forced to get the Kinect even though I don't want it put me off.
I know a dozen people, or I know at least a few of them but have seen a dozen people buy a PS4 over Xbox One mainly because of the price difference. A bud of mine won an Xbox One and had a PS4 already. He got his ps4 because of the price but since he had an XBOX One now he was going to sell it. THEN he realized after a few days of playing, that the ps4 was the right choice and then sold the XBOX One that he won.

Even the popular video game website IGN favors the PS4 much more than the Xbox One (slightly). IGN gave the PS4 a rating of 8.2 while the Xbox One was given a rating of 7.8. The PS4 got a higher rating probably because it is more powerful and a lot cheaper than Microsoft's console. Nice to hear that even expert critics favor Sony's console.

I agree, I think at this point it's almost safe to say that people are a lot more warm towards the PS4 than Xbox One in general. I'm assuming it's because it's a lot closer to the traditional type of console while still upgrading it significantly, as opposed to what MS has done which is almost a complete overhaul and I think they had a little trouble defining and targeting their audience this time around.

I was able to pick up a PS4 from walmart yesterday morning. When I saw on the website they had it in stock I went right away. They had 2 left by the time I was there. They had a pyramid of Xbox Ones though. Not sure if it is just that Microsoft is able to produce more of their consoles so stores are able to sell as many while keeping in stock, or if it is just not selling. The PS4 has been sold out, or when a store gets them in, sells them in under an hour. I have been keeping watch since the release date to buy one and was only able to yesterday.

Yeah, went out with my wife yesterday evening and we saw a few stores that had XboxOne's in stock. my wife made a comment about soon you'll buy 10 gallons of gas and get a free XboxOne

I own both xboxone and Ps4. Ive been ps since it came out. I am very depressed atm. Ps4 launch titles Knack and Killzone and indies? Were are the exclusives? Now I feel guilty because my Ps4 is just collecting dust while I own every Xboxone game besides the sport ones and some of the apps. Im having more fun on xboxone then Ive had in years. Deadrising 3 coop amazing Forza amazing. I will keep my ps4 till 3 2014 hoping for next gen exclusives. If they dont deliver im sadly going to sell my Ps4. Titanfall alpha is out hope alot get picked. I believe my Ps4 has outsold my Xboxone, but gamewise Xboxone has the best launch games I have Ryse, KI3 20 cash version, Zoo tycoon, 3rd party Skylanders, Deadrising 3, Forza 5 my favorite game atm. I dont beleive my Ps4 won I belive it didnt deliver. Sadly Xboxone has.

I see and hear of the same situation as well. It took a lot of looking to get the PS4 and the shops were all pitching the One at me because it was in stock. I hear of the same stories from friends and coworkers. Even one of the higher ups sent a work-wide email to let people know a store had the PS4 when he went in. I have yet to see a place sold out of the XBox so far.

Not just the console is sold out everywhere but even it's vertical stand is out of stock for some reason. I've been actively looking for the official stand but none of them have them. Even online stores like Amazon stated that they are out of stock.

When you're talking outside gamers, price is always going to be a factor. Especially when you consider that a lot of people who are going to buy the console during it's lifetime are parents. And if their kids aren't picky, their going to chose the cheaper of the two. I prefer the PS4 also because of the exclusives, something Microsoft is only really starting to work on.
