Wifes attitude towards our love of gaming

I got my wife into gaming the first 8 months we were together. She fell in love with Dark Cloud after she bought me a PS2. I've been a gamer for about 20 years and when she got into it, just made it all the better. BUT her family are jehova's witnesses and last year she had a crazy epiphany and now she's against me and my violent games. She does like RPG's though.

I respect her beliefs and I ask that she respects mine but sometimes she guilt trips me. Then I go "You know what? Want an argument?" she says "nope, keep gaming" and I'm like "Thank you." haha

I don't know age of everyone on here and how long they have been with their girlfriends but I can promise their is a big difference with your girlfriend liking gaming as opposed to being married for many years with children

Wiser words were never spoken. I'm 36 and have been gaming forever. I'm married with one kid and while she doesn't mind my gaming, there is a difference from when we were younger. Now I have to go to work.

My girlfriend actually likes to watch me play. I'll play, and she'll do something on her computer, or do some work, or draw. She finds it relaxing.

I want to marry that gal.

As I said,my wife games too,PS3 and on her androif phone but even then you cant sit and play all the time even if you want too,not if you have a gf or wife.
Like anything, you just need to try and divide any free time up,you need to compromise. Well,if you wanna stay and in a relationship anyway.

Sorry guy. I'm a female gamer and dating a male gamer. The only fights that we ever have concerning gaming is which console is better. Regardless of what the polls say most women don't really play video games and if they do its mobile games like bejewelled or Angry Birds or The Sims series. I find that for my male friends and this is the same advice that I would give you, you might want to introduce her to some lightweight games that both of you can play. I'm not saying that she'll play COD with you anytime soon, but she might get into more story driven fare.

My wife plays CoD,:o She's not a hardcore CoD player but does play sometimes with me via dual screen or splitscreen.
Her fav games are the Lego games though.

If she plays COD with you then she's a keeper. And the Lego games are awesome. As another happens to be female gamer, I would say that if your girl isn't already into the medium then you're going to have to figure out a way for her to either live with it or be a part of it. I would suggest trying to see what types of games she might be into. Let her try a little bit of everything before she completely writes off the medium.

Life can be kind of cruel. You know have a career and a family to take care of but can probably afford about as many as you desire. However, Time is the enemy as you have so many responsibilities that it makes it hard to squeeze in an hour gaming session.

And for all those not married posting on this thread,, Let me give you good advice: Don't marry for love. Marry someone with a big trust fund so you are free to purse your passions such as gaming and whatever else floats your boat :)
