Blacklight Retribution

Free-to-play shooter Blacklight Retribution is one of the several dozen games confirmed for the PlayStation 4 thus far. A new trailer shows gameplay footage from the PS4 version.

Blacklight Retribution offers up 10 different maps for online battles. There are nine game modes in the game, including competitive staples like Capture the Flag and Domination. A co-op survival mode, Onslaught, is also available.

Character customization is a huge component of Retribution. Players can change up their weapons and items to switch up their role on the battlefield. Additional equipment can be unlocked through gameplay or by paying real-world money.

I look forward to this one. I played the original (on the 360) and enjoyed it while it lasted (population has since decreased to crickets). And another free to play PS4 title? Nice.

Indeed, i played the game during the first week of release, but after that the community for the game just... died, which is too bad. Let's hope that this one survives for longer on the PS4.

This game is really great. I think it's one of my favorite FPS games since the graphics are pretty good. I also really like the gameplay, and how it's designed. I played this for a few months, and really enjoyed it when I played it. I wouldn't say the community died, there are still some people playing that. There's also a PC version if anyone is interested, and it's free as well. The community is pretty active on PC, but there are some glitches here and there.

Interesting, I have not yet heard about this game until now. I think I will have to pick up a copy though because judging by the trailer on the video above, it looks to be awesome.

Not another Halo game. In my opinion Halo and Call of Duty are on the same page at the moment, where they are releasing new games every year, but they are exactly the same as the previous titles. I thinkt that in the next year or so both franchises will die out drastically, and the twelve years olds who used to spend hours upon hours raging at their monitors, will move onto a real game like Battlefield 4 or Battlefront.

I loved this game on PC and from what I know, it did reasonably well. It will be interesting to see how it plays and performs on PS4. The devs have clearly stated that next-gen consoles, especially PS4 is really affable to indie, F2P and MMO games. My gut feeling is, this game is going to be a blast on PS4

That's really nice of Sony. They are allowing us to play some games outside of their PS+ requirement. I doubt Microsoft will ever do something like that.

Yep,thats what free to play means on PS4 AFAIK.
For the Xbone you would still need a subscription to go online at all.

I played for the first time last night, and seemed to have the same problem. I really like the way the game looks and feels, but the lag is quite bad.

Ah, glad I'm not on my own - maybe it's just teething problems.

Mind you saying that when I had another go the next night the lag wasn't that bad, just my performance

It says that it's still in it's BETA form. Looks to me like it's been that way for quite some time. Maybe that's why the lag and connection issues still exist? All I know is that I would not buy this game, if what has been shown, is the finished product.
