What's your occupation?

I'm still a student, but I've done about 2 years of paid internship working in a molecular biology lab for the Canadian government. It pays pretty well, but chances are I'm going to be making half as much after I actually graduate.

Im still a student also. Was going for engineering but one of my professors saw my art work and sent me to talk to someone. The guy I went speak to said they think I would do good as industrial designer so I swapped. I would enjoy it more also. wondering if anyone had this career and maybe some advise.

I'm unemployed, but being a mother and wife is a full time job. I have to do this everyday, but it is well worth it. I went to school for medical billing and claims, but decided not to go for a job just yet because of being pregnant with my 3rd son. After him though I do plan on getting a job to help my husband with our finances and most of all take care of our little men.

Dammit. I was just about to post I'm a photographer.

As of right now I work for a portrait studio in my area, specializing in general portraiture as well as boudoir. I'm hoping to expand into my own business which my goal is this year (though said the same thing last year but circumstances didn't happen). What stinks is starting a business and trying to get my bills paid while starting up. And the cost of living in my state is kinda ridiculous.

I also have a couple of things I am working on on the side and just found a couple of machine shops local to me that have offered to help with some of my personal designs (pretty excited about that). I am a financial risk analyst for an energy company. I primarily work with natural gas and power (electricity) portfolios and support our portfolio management team. I’ve only been here for a month. Before this I was an accountant with Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Yeah, it is hand drawn. It's actually a large picture on 18 x 24 paper. I take that as a complement you asking if it is hand drawn. Means it's pretty good if you can't tell. LOL. I have been trying recently to figure out a way to make money using my skill in drawing. Just don't know how to start.

I am not really sure how it would translate over. In my experience, people with a strong mechanical understanding do very well in my field. I like your artwork I think its fantastic. The reason I chose this career is because I like to be creative but have very little freehand artistic ability. Most everything I do is software based with programs like Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, and AutoCAD 2D/3D. Have you considered looking into Graphics Design??

I cant really post a lot of pictures of my work, I can post a picture of one of my finished PDC drill bits that I worked on last year.

The Cartoonish looking one is the actual model I designed, the other is the actual production bit.

I teach computer classes at the unemployment office here and elsewhere--mainly basics and intermediate stuff for seniors and Photoshop and stuff for kids and teens. Prior to that I went to school for computer aided imaging and animation (3D animation/graphic design) to pick up something to fall back on before I went to wrestling school (never got to wrestling school, but I'll be pursuing it this year).

I was never particularly good at the 3D design part and I didn't pick up the graphic design stuff (Photoshop, etc) until much later on when I decided to actively practice and use it--by practice I mean mainly doing banners and stuff and other assignments. So I do that on occasion next to teaching. The main things I took away from my time at 3D animation school was sound editing, writing/scripts, and voice acting.

Before teaching I was a bouncer for that summer. It was more eventful than teaching, the money was better, but teaching is more rewarding, and it allows for more computer time to do nothing.
