So I bought the game once, upgraded to a non-backwards compatible system, and you want to sell me the same game I bought before to play on my new system.

I like Sony more than Microsoft, but not that much. They can kiss it.

It's really exciting technology.

What about setting up your PC with Playstation Now and being able to access that remotely.

There are all sorts of possibilities.

Plus I'll be able to play 'The Last Of Us' which I'm excited about ... Never had a PS3 so I've never had a chance to play it.

Since it’s going to begin as a beta program in the US at the end of January, I wonder if anyone is going to exploit that for a good bit. I guess they’re starting to emulate Steam seeing how much profit they can have in investing over the cloud.

Hopefully they’ll have some way for others to stream games they already have on a disc, though that probably would cause some issues in reliability. It’s just that anything over the cloud is always dependent on the sustainability of external sources to play the games in.

Not sure if this is helping the limited space or just making things worst, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

I like this from Sony. I want innovation from the industry and this isn't the first time that other companies have 'borrowed' ideas from other console makers or programs. Steam is the best gaming service out there and I've wanted the Big 3 to emulate them for a long time, Sony is the only one who has ever come close. If this brings them closer then I'm happy.

Exactly just because I have a PS4 now doesn't mean that I got rid of my PS3. We all knew that the closet they were getting to backwards compatability was the $9.99 upgrades for the AAA's at the end of the cycle. Why get rid of your PS3? There are a ton of other games on the PS3 that are on sale and I'm playing them right now.

It's great to hear that something is finally being announced on this game streaming service. I see that nothing related to PS Plus subcribers being announced yet regarding this service. So there's only going to be renting and no buying the games, I wonder how long can it be rented? It's also odd that Playstation Now is going to work with non Sony platforms too.

But on second thought, now that I understand more about it, for the games that you haven't purchased, it may not be a bad idea. Especially if the price point is reasonable.

They say it's gonna kill GameStop, and redbox already rents games through their kiosks, so I wonder how they will adapt?

This is the news I've been waiting for, as coming from the 360 to the PS4, there are a few PS3 exclusive titles that I am wanting to play such as Heavy Rain, and some of the Naughty Dog titles.

I wouldn't expect them to give it to you for free if you already bought it. Thing that sucks is you bought the game in the past. Then they come out with this service and basically try to sell it to you again. I like how they keep bringing up the last of us saying "oh you can play it on your tablet, PS4, Vita". Cool prospect but I already own it. Not buying it again. What I would take advantage of though which is an exciting prospect for me is that there are numerous games in the PS3 generation and even the PS2 and PSX generation that I never got the chance to play and would like to. My only other alternative at this point is to seek out the disk and the original hardware (which is something I'm not opposed to. I always love to see my game library expand). This would give me the opportunity to play and enjoy the game whenever and where ever I am.

What is good about all this new streaming technology and old games is the prospect of games to be immortal to younger generations. Us here in our mid 20s and older remember the classic games going back to the original consoles. Kids who are in high school now and younger may remember the last bit of the PSX days and probably the PS2 days (and of course the PS3 days). But those older games may be lost forever, since the alternative would be to get the original hardware and software. What I'm excited for is the fact that younger generations can play and appreciate where games have come from and even enjoy the classics. And from what I remember posting on internet message boards 13 years ago when PS2 first came out, was that games had no immortal life to them.

I remember Blockbuster tried the Netflix thing for a period--I think they're still doing it along with an OnDemand type thing. I checked their site earlier and they're advertising the hell out of a .99 DVD and Blu-Ray sell for stores closing. ALL MUST GO, Fiverr!

Anyway, I think GameStop will adapt to an online format if PlayStation Now really steamrolls over GameStop, because if it works for Sony then Microsoft would jump on it and unless you're a parent who just hates doing their deals online B&M GameStop stores would be pointless. Plus more people are finding out that trade-in isn't worth it and are turning to selling their stuff themselves via Craigslist, Amazon, and eBay.

Something like this would really make people wanna upgrade. I would consider it. But seeing that currently they only make $18 for each PS4 sold, I dunno if they would do it.

If they made it so that -- through an update -- the PS4 could read the PS3 discs, then that would be a real selling point. The current way allows them to "double-dip."

That would be too convenient and accommodating, really. Personally I'd love for there to be some method where I don't have to re-purchase games.

Sony is not bad at managing digital purchases as Nintendo. I hope they work out a good way to incorporate previous purchases.

While I love Nintendo, they are very restrictive with digital purchases. They're very "You better keep this device and you this is region locked--deal with it."

I think we'd all prefer to have something that would keep us from having to buy games we own a second time. That said, this is huge for getting the hits and classics. Those are pretty much what I want.

If it's all of the definite classics--the ones that had the green "Greatest Hits" bar on its case after awhile--then I'm all good with this. I'd say throw in a few titles that didn't make Greatest Hits status as well. Some of those were actually good.

It's an interesting idea but you seem to have to rebuy games just to be able to stream them, even if the version you own is digital... no thanks.

Besides, my connection is crap, I wouldn't be able to use this anyway.
