Gameplay Time

Is there anywhere around the PS4 home screen where you can view the length of time you've spent on certain games? Not a crucial aspect to the system, but on the PS3 I always liked monitoring and seeing how much time I had put into certain games.

Thanks in advance for the help/suggestions!

Nice question, but I don't know if that's possible... at least from the home screen. But, good luck with that anyway!

I always thought you could see how long you played in the save data either in game or where saves are stored outside of the game. Time played should be universal across all games.

You know, I stated buying my Games on Steam for this very reason. I love some tracking on how much time I have spent on videogames.

1000 hours in Counter Strike. No regrets.

I'd rather not know how much time I've spent on a game. I'd then start to realize all the other things I can do in that same amount of time :p

That's so true. When it racks up to a number of weeks it's like "Wow, I could've gotten so much done in that time."

Agreed with all the previous posters- There isn`t away of telling through the PS4 hardware/software operating system. Certain games from previous PS3 console would log your hours...... wait for it...... 250 hours played on Skyrim!!!! and that was me messing around with trying to max out my gear/ abilities- I had the Legendary version of the game. Damn shame all those hours... then I got a PS4 lol!!!. Problem was I only got into approx 6 or 7 quests on the main quest line. Man I soo badly want that game for the PS4..... i`m hoping Witcher 3 will rival it ;) I`m currently playing Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag and i must have put around 50+ hours into it so far..but again no way of being sure since the game doesn`t log your time ;(

I've said it before, but I always wonder who comes up with ideas on removing and adding stuff and who targets simple stuff like time played tracking?

"That's gonna eat up resources and and...overheat the console. The fan doesn't need that strain. Plus games will have to be bumped up to $70 because of it. Take it out."

"Really? Time played is going to cause all of that?"

I absolutely hate when they remove already established features and don't say a word about it. It's stupid to be honest.

I especially hate when they remove things that work then leave things that are decent at best but have a history of just being useless.

Seriously. When I logged into my EA Origin account and looked at the amount of time I played Mass Effect, I think at the time it was like 150 hours just in the online. Not counting the games.

haha I just play a game and any time I look at how many hours I go "WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE?" Then I remember; "Worth it!" :) game saves should tell you, if not, the game itself should have an option in the options menu or maybe an 'extras' menu.

True, I'm happier not knowing how many hours of my youth is gone due to games. I'm just better off that way. There is no need for me to know how long I've been playing Resogun.

Like someone else said, I love seeing how long I've played a game. I know that you can sometimes be a little hesitant to see that information, especially if you're concerned you've been playing too much, but I think it's usually good nonetheless. If PS4 can have a similar record as Steam does, it would be nice.
