So obviously my friends list transferred from my PSN account to the PS4. I noticed that it doesnt tell you if your friends are on the PS3 or PS4. Is there a setting or something else that i am not seeing?

Would like to know this as well,, although I did notice that all of a sudden not as many of my friends appear to be on fifa14,,so perhaps only showing in game players on 4 ????

Its a shame you can't crossplay with people who have PS3. Can't imagine you need different servers for it. But then again, if there was crossplay between the platforms, people may not adopt PS4 as quickly :p

No, as far as I know you can't know that. It seems like a very easy thing to do, maybe Sony just didn't think about it...

It does show you if they are on PS3 or PS4,kind of.
But you have to actually click on their name first, then once there an IF they are playing a game it will show what they are playing and what console, but if they are not in any game it doesnt show.Just shows their name.

But Im sure you wanna see that in the actual friends list.

And,Im still waiting for Sony to patch it at PS3 end, cause at the moment PS3 users cant see their PS4 friends online.

Would be fun, but can understand why it isn't possible. Take Fifa14 for eg, the gameplay is different on next gen as the consoles are capable of so much more,, even EA have put in a different match engine (ignite) for next gen,,so basically its a different game.

Dont know why they cant have xbox 1 players able to play against PS4 players esp now both consoles charge for online play. Surely could benefit both manufacturers.

I think their is already enough fighting, cursing mothers and hatred on the PSN network alone. I cant imagine the arguments that would arise from cross platform game play lol.

The chat itself is already a battlefield when this happens. Anyway, I think it's a neat thing to be able to tell who's on the PS3 and who's on the PS4. I think it's a simple feature to implement but maybe Sony was rushing for a release so they didn't include many things. I'm guessing they are going to plans for future updates.
