Streaming Netflix?

You're not the only one. The interface to Amazon Instant Video liked to make you work for what you want to watch.
 
Streaming through the PS3 is the only way I watch Netflix. I have a fairly new laptop but for some reason it just cannot cope with Netflix. It's incredibly jumpy, the video skips etc. But with the PS3, everything runs very smoothly and I've had no problems with it so far. The one criticism I have is the way the TV shows and movies are laid out to browse through - I really would prefer some sort of simple list over the huge front covers I have to scroll through.
 
I've heard that about the Amazon service. I, too, signed up for Amazon Prime during Christmas to take advantage of free second day shipping. I didn't try out the Amazon library of titles while I was under my free trial, but I had heard that it was a tougher deal to navigate than Netflix. makes me pause even though I know that my Amazon Prime membership would net me some considerable savings over Netflix.

Trust me you aren't missing much. Most of what I wanted to watch on Amazon was already on Netflix and it took me half the time to find it :) There may be some differences in the movies but not enough for me to merit having both. I actually cancelled my Prime membership a few days after trying Instant Video.
 
When I used the free trial for Amazon Prime, everything was good except for Instant Video. It wasn't terrible, I just didn't care for the layout at all.

My laptop and desktop just aren't feeling Netflix at all. I remember it just didn't work when I tried it during the free trial. When I signed back up last month, I mainly run it on the PS3, the 3DS, and the phone. Those have no problems at all coping with Netflix.

...even talked to my laptop about it. Just "Hey buddy, is everything okay? PS3 said you don't much like Netflix."
 
Seems like Amazon Instant Video gets no love lol. I stream regularly on my PS3 with the backups being the 3DS and the PS4. I think when more stuff gets on the PS4, the PS3 will be in the backups roster.
 
Netflix seems to stream more smooth through my PS3 then it does with my TV (TV came with a Netflix app). I believe it's because the TV is wifi and my PS3 is wired and our router is rather far away.

You guys are kinda rough on Amazon Instant Video. I mean I don't care for it either (I was on Amazon Prime just for free 2-day shipping), but damn. Anyway, it's all about Netflix or 1Channel if you're going cheap with it.
 
I'd like to use Hulu Plus. I've never had a reason to buy it since I tend to catch my shows on time and just enjoy old seasons on Netflix.
 
Hm. Hulu. I use it for free and just deal with the ads, never considered Hulu Plus though.

You gotta admit, Amazon Instant Video knew Netflix was waiting right there for anyone to step on its porch.
 
I'd suggest Hulu Plus only if you find yourself missing shows regularly and wanting to catch up...and if you don't like commercials. Other than that, meh.
 
Streaming it on your PS3 shouldn't be any different than streaming it on your laptop, except you can view it on your TV screen and it may be faster or slower depending on your device and if you have the computer or the console plugged into an ethernet cable. For convenience's sake, being able to watch things on a TV with a larger screen is better for most people.
