Humble Indie Bundle 8

So the new Humble Indie Bundle is coming to a close in a little under a week!
How many of you have gotten it/how many of you plan to get it?
I'm still contemplating getting it, mostly because I'm not interested in many of the games outside of Hotline Miami... It does seem to be a good price for the amount of games you're getting though, and I've heard good things about Dear Esther and Proteus, so I might be willing to shell out for it.
To those of you who have bought it, how are you enjoying the games, and would you recommend it?

To be completely honest, Hotline Miami is the best indie game I have ever played. Ever, hands down. If it was just a soundtrack even, it'd be worth full price just for how good the music is. Dear Esther is also really good if you're into those type of storylines. But yeah, Hotline Miami is absolutely win. Get it, imo.

Gah, you're tempting me to buy the game by beating the average. I'm honestly low on cash right now, but if it's really that good, I will have to get it then. I want to ask though, what makes it so good? I've heard a lot of praise about this game, and I'm still trying to figure it out. Haha. Thanks!

I bought the bundle the day it released. Currently, I'm playing Thomas Was Alone, and it's a really fun game with great music! The game is fairly simple, but some levels take a while to complete especially if you have to control the different shapes. It requires a little knowledge, but I would recommend the bundle if anyone hasn't picked it up. I didn't beat the average since Hotline Miami, and the other one didn't appeal to me much. I've seen gameplay videos here and there, but it didn't look like it was my type.

Thomas was Alone is a fun game that can be used to waste time and to use up some of your brain cells at the same time. You need to think on which block you would use in order to proceed to the portals. I don't recommend "rush-playing" it though.

I really like how they added some dialogue to it. The game is very unique, and I'm still enjoying the game. Been playing for the past few days, and haven't got stuck on any levels yet. Some levels are pretty big though, but not hard.

So just an update for all of you, I decided to get the Humble Bundle (above the average), I booted up Hotline Miami, and I immediately burnt a few hours playing that game today. I've probably played more than is healthy... but it was definitely worth it.

I want to ask though, what makes it so good? I've heard a lot of praise about this game, and I'm still trying to figure it out. Haha. Thanks!

Well, from my perspective, Hotline Miami is easily the most fast-paced game I've ever played. Easily. It's the kind of game where rushing someone holding a gun with a knife is a recommended tactic. But at the same time, you go down in one hit, meaning you have to act fast and think fast unless you want to get mauled by a dog. This in itself is a great feel to the game and makes you feel a lot of the consequences if you mess up an engagement. The good news is that the game has unlimited lives and the respawn screen is so fast that you can jump back in right away without feeling you've lost anything. The plot is also rather deep and confusing with so many plot twists, and despite the dated graphic style, it pulls off a beautifully entertaining story. Also the music is orgasmic. Seriously.

I probably won't get that but I love the Humble Bundle! They give great sales on amazing games. I got BF:3, Crysis 2, MoH, and other games all for $5!
