Will a lava lamp overheat a Ps4?

I have one next to my ps4 and i was thinking maybe in hot weather that the heat from the lamp might cause damage to the Ps4? here is a image so you can see how close it is.

What do you think?

I don't know that it will cause damage, but excessive heat at some point will cause damage. To be on the safe side I never keep a console next to another source of heat or in an enclosed area. I'm not sure how much heat that lamp gives off, but I personally wouldn't risk it.

I agree,to be sure I would'nt have it that close either.Perhaps there is something else you can do and move around things a bit.

Why on Earth would you have a lava lamp next to your PS4 in the first place? Just move one of them--it shouldn't be that difficult to relocate.

Sometimes you just got to set the gaming mood. Hence the pre-game grooming utensil and post-game smokes conveniently placed along with the PS4 and lava lamp.:D

In all seriousness though, i wondered the same thing haha.

Why on earth would you put anything like that next to your machine? The only things I put on or around my machine are a few papers from my printer, my cell phone, and my controller.

Maybe, he likes the ambience a lava lamp provides, and maybe, he's not got much space/leeway for him to place his electronics anywhere else.

I wouldn't recommend putting the lava lamp so close to the PS4 myself, plus if he does like the mood lighting a lava lamp provides, the lightbar from the controller should provide that :p

I hadn't thought about there not being enough space for his electronics, but it's still odd placing to put something that generates heat close to a piece of equipment that doesn't deal well with heat.

I think this thread has to take the cake for the most random question posted on this forum.

You ever been on the internet Obe? This website gets the least of it out of any forum I've visited, ever.;)
As KMJ said above. You dont see all the spam and sometimes silly posts we get sometimes as they are removed.

Obsidian:My post was in reply to Titan's comment on unusual/random posts and I replied saying he hasnt seen some on the posts we get here (as they are removed, and Im not talking about spam),I was merely stating the fact. jamie6747's post is fine in comparison, thats why its still here and not removed.

Not sure why you posted a comment saying have I ever been on the internet.I am and have been on many forums as a member, moderator and admistrator so know all to well.
Please dont presume otherwise.

Whoa that escalated quickly. I thought Obsidian was just making a friendly comment jokingly. Pretty sure there's no reason to take it personally. Besides it was clearly sarcasm.
