I'm not big on multiplayer so I hold off subscribing PS+ up to now(used my trials and thats it), back in PS3 also I wasn't a big MP player.

now I see some games are MP only games like The Crew, The Division and some similar games.

I was wondering whether those type of games require PS+ or as they are MP onlyy the MP would be free?
If thats the case I might give in and get a PS+ when those games are released.
However when you think about it, some people dont want to subscribe to PS+ so they might lose potential customers.

Can anyone provide more info about these games?

Although I don't think they've really gone into detail regarding those games, they do say: "In almost all cases, a PlayStation Plus account is needed to play online multiplayer on the PS4."

So it looks like you will need a PS Plus Subscription to play those games online. Free-to-play games like Warframe and Blacklight: Retribution do not need a PS Plus Subscription - anyone can play online whether you have PS+ or not.

Although with what they have released so far hasn't been "fantastic", PS Plus will be worth it in the long run. Exclusive discounts, in some cases betas for upcoming games and with more games coming out, I'm sure we'll be getting some blockbuster titles for free via PS Plus. I know we will be getting DriveClub: PS Plus Edition (which is basically the full game minus a few cars and tracks.

I think the PS Plus is a big waste of money. I could have bought myself a PC. However, the fact that I can get a few video games for free every time is a price killer.

Not really fair,for people that play online all the time PS+ it is a neccessity. That fact that it comes with discounts and free games is just an added bonus.
And if you play on PS3 and Vita your PS+ subscription carries over to them as well and they have had many excellent games for free already.

have never heard of any game in the history of consoles that only allows you to play online. All games have offline modes. Only multi player is generally viewed as a feature. Like you there are a lot of people who do not like playing online. That is why there are no games that function online exclusively.

That would be a bad business move for game developers to make. Not everyone has an internet connection, and not everyone likes to play online. They would lose lot's of money if they actually tried this.

I think you maybe confused about how online multi player actually works.

You are incorrect on that one actually.
BF1943 for PS3 to name but one,admittedly its downloadable only but its MP online only.
M.A.G for PS3 to name another,it was available to download and on disc to purchase and it was only online MP as well.

edit: Also,when I say for many people PS+ is a necessity Im talking about people that prefer to play online only,regardless if the game has a SP campaign or not.
I know of plenty people that when they buy the latest CoD or BF game they go straight to MP online,and never even touch the SP campaign.For these people PS+ is a must,as I said.

Exactly, my concern is The Crew and The Division.

I quite like those games, I just wish it could be played SP, or at least it doesn't need PS+/Xbox live, as I said I'm not a big fan of MP for other games, so paying full PS+ price for just two games is kinda illogical for me.

Also considering my internet is crap, the free downloadable games really dont come to my use as it takes several days for me to download 25~40 GB games.

I've never hooked my PS3 up to the internet for a few reasons. Firstly, I hadn't a clue how to and secondly, until recent months I've had a limit on the amount of uploads/downloads per month simply because it's been the only internet package I can afford. Online gaming would have seen me probably blow that monthly limit within a few days. It would have been completely impractical to do so.

I have since upgraded to an unlimited package, partly in preparation of getting an PS4 sometime this year (hopefully...) so this particular ‘stumbling block’ no longer applies. I also believe the PS4 can connect wirelessly, which again is a huge bonus and another minor point I had now averted. The last thing I want is to start moving furniture, ripping up carpets and laying cables. Not only that, at the moment my new unlimited fibre optic package is proving to be barely any quicker then Broadband and does have a habit of randomly dropping connection on a daily basis for no reason...

I have heard quite a lot about PS+ and when I do eventually get a PS4, I do want to give it a go to see what the fuss is all about. However, I do feel that unless you're a 'hard gamer', someone who uses it more or less daily, it's simply going to be a waste of money.

Firstly, I don't really have any interest in Multiplayer games (the only ones I do are PC games). Besides, I have no friends to actually play with online and my main gaming buddy moved across to the 'dark side' with Microsoft several years ago. It seems that most of such games as FPS's - again, a genre which I'm very bored with now.

The only thing that I'm interested in is perhaps the old DLC added content and maybe the odd indie title once in a while. If there's a way I can do this on a 'pay per download' rather than having a constant subscription which I know full well I wouldn't get the use out of, then I’d favour doing this. If however you have to have a subscription (i.e - constantly chucking money at it) just to download a handful of items in any given year, then I'm afraid you can count me out altogether. My PS4 will be used as a simple 'plug in and play' console as my PS3 has been.

Again, I really do want to get online when I get a PS4, but I just don't think a PS+ account is justifiable for my purposes and I really don't want to be 'forced' to get one when I'm no longer a regular gamer. Having perks of 'free' games doesn't really tempt me especially if I have no interest in the game they're offering or indeed the free time to play it.

It’s something that I do really need to look into but the 'Playstation Plus' website doesn't really give you any in-depth information. I need to know exactly what you can do online without holding a PS+ account / resorting to expensive subscriptions e.t.c...

I assume that your fiber optic is supposed to be much faster then your broadband. how old is your router and do you have a voip box? Do a speed test the way things are set up now then hook directly to your new fiber modem and do a speed test again. A lot of times old equipment will hinder you.

I think it should be 50 USD per year if I'm not mistaken.

btw as I mentioned the deal is amazing for those who play online, for single player oriented people like me, not worth it IMO.

It would be cool if they offered pay per game subscription. like you paid small fee to play the game of your choice online.
for example I only play Fifa online, so I pay like 10$ a year for playing Fifa online, or same for CoD or any other game.

Sounds OK but what if you play 10 or 20 games online? That would be no good.

It all depends on what game you plan to play. If you want to play CoD, BF4, FIFA etc you will need PS+ to play online.
