PS4 controller vs XB1 controller

I have managed to experience both of them and I must say that the PS4 one is far superior and ergonomic.

Absolutely agree. The DualShock 4 is just perfect. Best controller I've ever held. Xbox 360 controller is pretty good, but I held an Xbox One controller in store once and for some odd reason, it was like they took two steps back with it.

I went to a Xbone launch event and got to play various games there, I was a 360 person and love that controller, but the Xbox one controller seemed horrible to me. The triggers were ridiculously sensitive and I was accidentally pressing the left trigger all the time.
Maybe it is something I would get used to but it put me right off.

The PS4 controller on the other hand was pretty great to use straight away, or after I taught my brain to not hit the touchpad when attempting to pause a game.

I got the Xbox One on launch and recently just got the PS4. I still have to say the the Xbox One controller is the better of the two for me. Maybe I just need more time with the DS4.

I was never fan of the Xbox controller, the mapping just doesn't suit me. I must say 360 controller was pretty decent, but I doubt anything can beat DS4.

I have always been a playstation fan and I like the design of the Dual-shock. Symmetric placement of the sticks fits my play style well. Apart from that, sony has risen the bar of what a controller should be by introducing the dual shock 4. The touch pad with different gestures and with the games that actually use them properly, like Killzone, gaming has been a much more enjoyable experience for me. On the other hand, Xbox One controller, although I do not like the design, has done some areas better than dual shock 4. For example, the sticks have that fine grainy texture that assists better grip, better trigger buttons. The rubber coating on dual shock controller has been reported to get worn off and break pretty fast.

I had a 360 this past gen and I thought that controller was perfect. With that said, the DS4 is just as good. I love the trigger redesign and the touchpad is also pretty neat. I do have a habit of trying to press the touch pad when trying to pause a game though. Haven't tried the XB1 controller, so I can't say anything about it.

I spent a lot of time on the Playstation and PS2 so after gaming with a 360 for 7 years I still called the buttons triangle, circle, square, and x hahaha. The only thing that could have been better on the 360 controller is the D-pad. I still think I liked that controller more than the DS4 but only marginally. I have only spent a few hours with a XB1 controller, but it definitely feels like a step down from the 360.

The X1 controller didn't have that heftiness to it and didn't seem as near indestructible as the 360 and I didn't care for that. The DS4 didn't have that indestructible feel to it, but neither did the DS3, but it had everything else I preferred (mapping, the size, etc). Technically the X1 had the mapping too, but the placing of the analog sticks I've cared for.

yeah the main reason I dislike xbox controllers is the placement of analog sticks. the left analog on the top kinda puts my thumb in a weird position, both analogs down is more natural to me. Could be due to me always playing on PS though...

YES! I forgot about how much better the D-Pad is. Apparently the reason for that is because Nintendo patented the D-Pad. So Microsoft had to do that weird D-Pad on a circle design for the Xbox. But the patent ran out in 2012 (or 13?) so that's why D Pads are much better this year.

That's not surprising since Xbox pretty much uses the DualShock setup for the face buttons (which is actually the SNES setup down to Xbox using the color scheme) and the idea of using two analog sticks. I went by X, square, triangle, O for awhile as well.

Analogs at the bottom was natural for me. My hands got use to the 360 and after sometime playing I don't really notice the placing, but still.

I too have spent a fair amount of time using both controller's for the latest consoles and have got to say the PS4 controller wins my vote. I have found the Xbox one controller starts to feel blocky after gaming with it for a while.

I have always felt that playstation controllers and much more comfortable than xbox controllers. But it might have a lot to do with hand size and shape because there are other people who will say the exact opposite.

I also prefer the symmetrical flat buttons of the PS4 controllers.

My childhood was marked by the PS1 and the PS2. Thus, I prefer the controller too. Now that it's better than the Xbox one, it's even greater for me!

I have always like the Playstation controller, it fits nicely in my hands and I find that everything always works well. I don't like the Xbox controller anywhere near as much, it is too chunky and the plastic on it feels cheap. I find it is a much more childish looking controller.

During the PS3 and XBOX 360 debate I think that the XBOX 360 controller came out on top. But majestically, Sony have developed the PS4 controller to feel much more confortable in your hands without it feeling it is going to slip out. The XBOX One feels too big and feels like I would constantly be straining to click buttons.

I love the PS4 controller. It's much more natural than the previous iterations, and I loved those too. Xbox just feels clunky.
