Games You Love But Everyone Hates

Do you have any favorite games that aren't very well liked by the masses? I don't really have much of an idea about which games are universally hated or at least close to it, and from my list, all I could come up with were titles that I got addicted to but are somehow not very popular, definitely not hated though - namely, FF Dissidia & Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I think the closest one that I could come up with that a lot of people seem to hate even though it has its share of fans like myself is FF8. I'm still trying to remember if I have any more as I'm sure I at least have one or two, but for now I'd like to hear from you guys. :)

Which are the games you love but everyone hates?

Naughty Bear. I'm sorry but I really like the game. Sure it's simple and repetitive, but as I said I really like it.

I also really like Sniper Ghost Warrior 2, and for its online too.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

Seriously though, everyone hated Red Faction: Armageddon and I loved it.

Saints Row The Third and IV. Many people hated those games, I don't know why, I mean its a fun satyr of the genre and I find it funny how people got upset over how the series has turned, I mean come on! Have some sense of humor! The game is fun to play and is very entertaining, I don't want to play another GTA copy cat for the next 10 years.

Probably Enter The Matrix. The game was poorly reviewed and was really awful in places, but dodging bullets and fighting agents was great, great fun. :)

I am one of the few that actually enjoys the Final Fantasy XIII games.

The Last Remnant is great too. Can understand the hate for it, though. Most people played the awfully broken 360 version instead of the glorious PC version.

Saints Row IV is amazing!

Oh my God, this! I loved this game back on the PS2. Although, like you said, the reviews were pretty bad, one of my friends and I really enjoyed playing it. I loved having the ability to control Neo and his ability to slow down time. Also, running on the walls was pretty dang cool and made for some awesome fighting combinations!

It is funny how we can get into games, television, movies, etc. that know one we know likes. I have a few of each of those categories that I just don't even mention to my friends because I would never hear the end of it.

Flappy Bird of course.... Just kidding :p

Hmm seriously though I would say Metal Gear Solid V : Ground Zeroes. The game was rated just like an average game but I think it's good. That being said I used to play MGS since Sons Of Liberty and have been enjoying the series for a long time now.

Go way back and play MGS on PSX? If not, give that a try. Being used to the new games then going back to that one is tough. But a hell of a lot of fun though. Goes back to a simpler time :)

100% this.
Naughty Bear was so much fun. But at the same time every single complaint is completely justified. The concept is just so great.
This is a game I love, but I don't think is a good game, and don't feel like I can really recommend to people.

I'm not sure if there's much hatred towards this game, but I do enjoy the first Turtles game on NES. I know AVGN did an episode about it, and it came to me as a shock that other people didn't like the game, though I can also say that the difficulty level of the game can at times be off the roof. The weird thing is though, that I used to be much better at the game as a kid than what I'm now 20 years later.

Viva Pinata, Star Fox Adventures, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, Lost Planet Extreme Condition.

How anyone could not love any of these titles is beyond me, but whatever.

I don't think people hated it because it was a bad game. People hated it because it was ungodly difficult to play and definitely near impossible to beat. I've been a gamer for over 20 years and this is still the most difficult game I have ever played. Even if I do get past the dam, I have such little life and turtles left, I can never beat Rock Steady.

I would play the hell out of a new Star Fox adventures, it isn't traditional Star Fox, but I still had a blast with it.

Very true. I'm guessing as a child I couldn't just point when a game was unfairly difficult, it was more about me not being good enough at it so I just kept playing and playing. Like I said, I'm horrible at the game today :D
