Far Cry Classic available on PS3

The AI was odd. While I liked the environment, you could get shot at and not notice where it was coming from for a moment. Like why are you just random standing in a field off the road? There's no rest stops, weapon shops, vehicles, inhabited buildings, or anything nearby. This enemy is just on a roadside shooting at people passing by. Who put you there? Who decided this was a highly strategic point?

Also the missions are repetitious in FC2.

FarCry 2 got a lot flak after it was out for a bit. Much of it deserved and especially the console versions.

Yeah I read that people who enjoyed the PC version didn't have as many complaints.

I liked Farcry 2. Not nearly as much as Farcry 3 or Blood Dragon, but it was alright.

lol I've noticed this too! That's some expert organization on their part. You're going full speed in a jeep, you think you see something to the right, keep going, then gunfire. You kill them and then there's two guys on a ghost jeep shooting at you.

OK people,you have my interest again with regards to Fary Cry 3.
So then to those that played Far Cry 2 and 3 on PS3 what would you rate each one overall/out of 10?
And also rate Blood Dragon.

This game did not age well. It stutters way too much and the controls feel awkward. A real disappointment since I really wanted to play it.

...Blood Dragon was like Far Cry cake with 80s ice cream. Far Cry 2 was just bargain snack cakes, man.

I like giving ratings to whole series. Should have a post where the ratings for games are collected on the forum/site. That would be neat.

Far Cry 2: 4/10

I'm sure I would've given it like a 5/10 on PC, but that extra point would've just been graphical appeal, really. The game was so...repetitious at times. Most of the time and there wasn't much of anything going on for most of it. When you do open world you kinda want thing to be...happening. You know, more than one specific thing to do.

Far Cry 3: 7/10

It was fun. I had written off Far Cry after playing 2, but heard a lot of good about 3. I'm glad I tried it out since it was a good game.

Blood Dragon: 8.5/10

As a standalone game I find it hard to give it a full 10/10 because it really is a great game and has everything I'd like in a FPS/open world game. As a Far Cry game, it would be 10/10 easily.

I don't remember playing Far Cry 2. I remember it being hyped well at the time of release though.

Far Cry 3 gets a 9/10 from me. I still play that game on weekends. I have Blood Dragon and will play it over the weekend I guess. People seem to really enjoy it.

If you didn't play FC2, I wouldn't go back just for experience's sake. Just leave it be lol

Far Cry 2: 6/10 I played it on PC and it wasn't that bad. At the time I would've given it an 8 because it was different for a FPS at the time. Drops to a 6 because it didn't age too well, but didn't age to the point of being just bad.

Far Cry 3: 8.5/10. Great game, so much more than FC2 was. I've yet to pick up Blood Dragon.

The PC version was much more functional that the consoles version. Not to take away from what good FC2 did offer. It was different for its time and there were mechanics that I liked that added a lot of intensity to the gun fight. The game also showcased some good environmental effects like wildfires.

...that's about it though.

Well,Ive said before I dont plan on buying anymore PS3 games but I just got the winning bid on ebay on a Blood Dragon code. Only AUD $4 so for that its gotta be worth it. Downloading now.
I did play the trial ages ago and liked it's 80's themed cheesiness so I look forward to playing the full version.

btw: The code I got was originally from the Wild Expedition pack,which includes Far Cry 1,2,3 and Blood Dragon.But I was under the impression that Blood Dragon was actually on the disc,not as a redeemable code for download. Guess not.

Only Far Cry 2 and 3 were on disc. Classic and Blood Dragon came via voucher codes.
