Who is looking forward to Metal Gear 5?

I love the Metal Gear series. I was introduced to MG back in the PS1 days and I was instantly hooked. I played every single game of the series on the PlayStation - Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, Guns of the Patriots, and even MG Revengeance. Now, MGS5 has got me drooling. I hope that it would be similar to Snake Eater. It's my favorite game in the entire series.

I have always wanted to get into this series. I've tried a couple of times and just... can't seem to. I have MGS 2 and 3 HD and Peace Walker, but I can't get over the steep learning curve. I understand these games came out on the PS2 so of course it's going to be a little different to what we're used to, but I just feel like a complete dumb*** when playing it.

That being said, I saw the little gameplay video for this and it looked decent.

That's how I felt too when I first played Metal Gear on the PS1. I was thinking "How the heck do I get past the guards without alerting them???" Of course, I had no weapons to start out the game so I was pretty much disappointed. I moved on to other games then came back. I tried to get acquainted with the controls and how to stealthily kill. Then I got to battle the awesome bosses. That's what got me into the series. MGS5, bring it on!

Didn't you reach a single boss in the MGS games? Hmm, If you wish to just get to the bosses, I think that MGS 3 is better in this aspect as compared to MGS 2. I also like the jungle setting of part 3. However, I'm not saying that you play through the game just to see the bosses. That would not be fun. The journey towards them is also very enjoyable. But then again, if you hate stealth games, I think that you won't really get the hang of it.

I really love stealth games because they add a layer of depth and complexity to the gameplay. I also like the stealthy/assassin feel of being able to sneak past people instead of shooting everyone. Definitely looking forward to Metal Gear 5, can't wait!

It's not my favorite title, but I'm certainly looking forward to it. I never really played many other installments fully besides the first one, but I've been able to play in short bursts on a couple of them and I really enjoyed the latest one even though it isn't too similar to the first MG game. I plan on buying a copy of that for myself, and if this newer one is anything like it, I'm optimistic that I will enjoy that as well. I just hope they include a lot more elements similar to the first one since I enjoyed that version the most.

Nah I didn't reach a boss battle. I played maybe 30 mins and that was MGS2 HD and as I said, I just couldn't get used to the awkward controls. I like stealth games. I really do. And I know it was made back on PS2, but I guess I'm too used to modern day controls. If there was an option to map out your controls, I think that would get me into it.

I sill admit that I've never been that much of a fan of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. All the games look really cool but not the type of games that I would actually play. Although, I have to say that the trailer for MGS5 that was shown at E3 was pretty cool and I see that they have no made the game open world. When I see more of the game, I will probably decide whether or not I will purchase it.

Probably the main problem of the Metal Gear Solid franchise is the control scheme. The characters control like toys. In short, it's not realistic. The hand to hand combat is also a major setback. But once you get past those, the game is smooth sailing. My only wish for MGS 5 is that they should greatly improve the close quarters combat.

This will be the game of the year at its output. Really, there is nothing that can compete with this game I'm serious! I do not even make me worry for this game

Ah yes .... The concerns that I do is to see him arrive on PS3 and Xbox One. I wonder if they will arrive at run the game smoothly.

Time will tell ... Hopefully not wait too long to see this game

I've been a Metal Gear fan since the NES days (I still have my cartridge in box), and have loved the 'tactical espionage action' ever since. Seeing MGSV transition to open world looks very exciting and I wonder how it will change the game overall now that we don't have to move between zones anymore. I would like smoother controls on the movement, as the bump in enemy AI will be a welcome challenge, but I want it to be a fair challenge.

I will still pick it up day 1 it comes out. When MGS4 came out, I bought it before I even got the PS3.

Whoa, that's too hard core! I have never done that in my entire gaming life. That defies the laws of physics. Lol. For me, the console always comes first before the game. Hopefully, I would be able to pick up a PS4 at launch so that I could also get MGS5 on day one.

Alright so I am kind of looking forward to Metal Gear 5 since I've enjoyed all of the games quite a lot mostly. I didn't like Revengence that much but it wasn't really a Metal Gear game so it's okay. Also I still play the old original games when I really feel like playing one or even this weird little christmas version some guy made and distributes for free. I generally quite enjoy stealth games like MGS or Splinter Cell. Here's to hoping MG5 continues the streak of a cutscene heavy but fun stealth game.
