Gran Turismo 7 Not Likely for 2014

Previously it was thought that GT7 could be released in 2014 but according to Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi that is unlikely.

Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi's previous estimation that Gran Turismo 7 for the PlayStation 4 could be released in 2014 was a little too optimistic, he has now admitted. "We are working on the title," Yamauchi told Eurogamer. "I don't think it'll make this year!"

In addition, Yamauchi said standard cars dating back to Gran Turismo's PS2 era will appear in Gran Turismo 7, but you can expect some of these to be overhauled for the PS4 with greater detail and more functionality. "I doubt that we'll be throwing away the standard cars," Yamauchi said. "Each car has its own fans. So I think we'll hang on to the archive. In the meanwhile, some of those cars we may be able to make into Premium cars as they become available--but basically we're more focused on increasing the number of premium cars."

As bad as I want it, I can certainly wait. After-all, I am accustomed to it.

I am not surprised. It's going to take some time before they announce this title. If it was to come this year, they would have announced it at E3.

These games always take ages to be made but the graphics are always out of this world.
Imagine on next gen, it will be insane.
Hope they make sure the online is better than it has been.

That is a real bummer to hear, as I have been looking forward to the release of Grand Turismo 7 for what seems like an eternity. I was really counting on the game to be released sooner but it looks like I am just going to have to wait for now. I just hope this delay means we will get an awesome racing game once the game is finally released. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I kind of saw this coming but I don't think that it would really be a problem to me because I think that the longer that we have to wait for the game the better for us when it comes out because that would just mean that the game would be a lot better. I really want this game a lot though and I really cannot wait until it is released.

Yeah, that's what I tough. I'm sure Gran Turismo 7 will be amazing so I don't mind waiting a couple more months for a flawless game.

Hope Gran Turismo 7 is better than the previous 2 . Loved 1-4 IMO 5 and 6 LOST out to the comparible Forza. Not trying to start a war Im not even gonna buy a XB1. Want to see GT be bar none the best like I used to feel about it IMO last couple fell short of that.

This is nothing new but I really hope they can use the added development time to outdo the competition. Recent Forza's and even NFS games have gotten close to the level of quality and attention to detail we normally expect from Polyphony Digital. I always have high hopes for this team but I still remember the waste that was the NASCAR mode, with the uncanny valley Jeff Gordon. Hopefully they are using this time to make the game better and not adding a silly feature that will only be played once and ignored forever by most of your userbase.

Forza 5 screwed the pooch with the online features. The market place for liveries and cars is horrible compared to previous renditions. This coupled with the fact that you now have to purchase a season pass to get cars that were included in the previous titles pissed me off.

Content is key (for me), and IMO Forza always had the edge over GT because of the online community until Forza 5. Such a shame.
