What?

I'd say going by sales of Wii U that Nintendo has lost the console war on that front.

Sony as a company isn't in a great place financially, but the PlayStation division does well for them, so I'm not really worried about it.

Plus (in the opinion of this Nintendo fanboy) Sony losing to Nintendo in the console market is crazy talk right now..

Right now with recent performance of the Wii U I cannot see Sony losing its console battle to Nintendo. Right now the Nintendo Wii U is struggling and every attempt that they make to make the console pick up in sales does not seem to be working so I cant really see them even being close to beating Sony in the console department.

wii u out sold both xbox360 and ps3 in the first two months of them but considering they were at different times i dont think its valid. im using the wii u browser to type this :-)

errrrrr WHAT?

PS4 is pwning other consoles, I dont know why would someone think PS is losing the console war.

PS Vita is not doing good though, so maybe they mean that.

I agree. With tablets and huge phones trending I don't really see a need for portable consoles anymore. Game devs can just develop games for ios or android platforms and earn more profit than making a game for, say, PS Vita. The only reason I'd buy a portable console would be for Pokemon, and that would be a 3DS or something, not even the Vita.

In regards to the first post, where the heck did that news come from? I have read that Sony's new CEO is planning to change their money-losing strategy or whatever but I've also read a lot of articles stating how far ahead Sony's PS4 is in the next gen console race. Playstation 4 for the win!!!

No clue what you are on about mate. The PS4 has been outselling and outperforming the Xbox One since release day. It's cheaper, has a better (IMO) selection of games, the controller is nicer and it has better specs. The PS4 is much better than the Xbox One and the Wii U is so far behind that you can barely see it.

I was pretty sure it was the other way around. The PS division was actually dragging the rest of the company down, especially back in the days when they were selling every PS3 at a massive loss due to the costs needed to build the thing versus the amount they could reasonably sell it for.

I have to disagree with you when you say that Nintendo is beating PlayStation right now. It seems like Nintendo is actually doing really bad with their Wii U, while Sony's PlayStation 4 is thriving. I think you're also trying to say that the PS vita and PS4 won't be compatible together, if that is the case, at least the PS3 has a good amount of life left in it.

I think others have said this but Sony as a whole(company) isn't doing too good financially but their Playstation Division is doing amazing especially with the Playstation 4(they are already getting profit) so Sony is definitely not losing the console war. Actually, it's been leading in sales for the past 6 months even better than the WiiU. I think the PS4 only trails behind the 3DS, and didn't Sony announce that the accumulated sales of their current platforms have reached 100 million units sold?

The gaming division is operating at a loss still, it's just that it's less of a loss than the rest of Sony's divisions. So, not exactly the rising star that's keeping their company afloat or anything.

You figured it out pal, the whole console war is an Illuminati game. Nintendo has actually been on top for a while now and you have managed to uncover the secrets that they've been trying to bury.
All we need now is your source and we can go to the press with this information and rock the world out of orbit.

Man so many financial experts on this forum. I'm glad half of New York stock market exchange brokers are also vivid gamers. Please, I need some financial advice too to make my profits increase.

Well, I have read articles of Sony's inconsistency revenue wise in the gaming industry but PlayStation 4 shouldn't be in the red just yet. This is still quite popular despite the competition from Wii. These numbers tend to fluctuate by the month. So unless there is a dramatic decrease in the demand for PS4, I wouldn't put much thought into this scenario just yet.

Every October I invest in Pumpkins. I invest in eggs a few weeks before Easter. PM me for more.

So I've got this plan to buy a whole dairy with lots of cows, yeah? What if I, you know, start buying up all of the milk being produced? Wouldn't this mean that I get paid lots of cash?

I think the PS4 is at a fairly good place right now, certainly a lot better than the PS3 was at its first year, but I agree that the Vita probably isn't doing as good as they had hoped. I doubt the Wii-U is overtaking the PS4 though, and I don't think they are in direct competition with each other anyway.
