i mean i know theres the what music do you listen to thread but thats just asking genres and stuff so i made this.

i hate todays music

(I'm gonna go on a little rant here and it's not aimed at you specifically, but at people hating on the state of music today in general. )

I hate it when people say stuff like this. What it actually means is that "I have a hard time finding new music I like", or you're focusing too much on what's on the top of the charts, which has always been at least 50% crap.

Sure, if you love Duke Ellington then you're going to have a hard time finding a lot of big band jazz. Not that it doesn't exist, it absolutely does, but it's harder to find than most music. That's a compound effect of the swing, big band style of music falling out of style and it being a messier logistical issue to manage a 20 piece band than a small 4-5 piece band like in the modal jazz style of Miles Davis. But ever since then, there has been no real shortage of good jazz music, and anyone who disagrees either isn't looking in the right places or is wearing too strong nostalgia goggles and is unwilling to accept that music evolves. The guys in the band BADBADNOTGOOD make a good point of this in the outro of their first album where someone asks the drummer "How do you feel about 'Giant Steps'" and he answers with "Stuff that shit, everyone's played it, it's 50 years old, it sounds like crap, write a new song and stop playing that goddamn song. I don't care if you can modulate and change that shit up. You can play it in seven, you can play it in nine, it's damn boring." And I can really understand what he means. It's one thing to say that most of the bands you like are from an older era and that you have a hard time finding new music today that you like, but it's really odd when some people wish that everyone would just rehash the 70's over and over again.

I'm not saying everyone has to like all the new music today, but I think that the state of music never has been better than today. There's tons good music in all kinds of genres being made. Distribution has never been better, and that's not up for debate. You can go on soundcloud and find all kinds of music being made completely for free. Not just underground groups, even major artists are releasing full mixtapes and albums on their own websites for free. So for the billionth time, it's all out there. It's just a matter of having a bit of patience and knowing where to look.

i just dont like all the twenty year old pop singers like iggy azealea
You know she's Aussie right?

Like her music or not you gotta giver her credit for doing what she did.
She wanted to leave Australia and go to the U.S to be a 'rap music' star, and that's pretty much what she did.

Well then, I think it's time to "suggest" my favourite band of all time - MR BUNGLE!

I recommend these three songs:

Everyone who hasnt already should give Motley Crue a chance!!! Favorite band of all time!! Read Nikki Sixx's and Tommy Lee's book along with Motley Crue: The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band and this band was extra crazy and just straight blew up in the early 80's. Some of their stories are just insane and makes me wish i grew up in that time period.

Favorite Songs By The CRUE:
-Wild Side
-Too Young To Fall In Love
-Kickstart My Heart
-Dr. Feelgood
-Livewire
-Without You
-EVERY SINGLE SONG!!

I'm also into EDM music, so if you've barely listened to EDM you should check out artists like Tiesto, Hardwell, Porter Robinson, Krewella, Kaskade, and so many more! (too many to name)

Yeah,Motley Crue aint bad, back in the day anyway.Dont hear much of them now although they currently are on final tour apparently.
Many of those Glam/Metal/Heavy Rock bands from the 80's were good.....ah hmmm...the old days....

Yea i agree!! So many good bands making a name for themselves!! Guns N Roses, Def Leppard, Metallica, Poison, Van Halen, AC/DC, KISS, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc... Those were the days of crazy "off the chain" rock n' roll concerts!

You are right in saying Motley Crue is touring for their final time!! End of an ERA.
