What was the last movie you watched?

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 9/10

So good. So darn good. Better then "Rise" even though that also was a great movie, this one just outdone it. The story was great, characters and oh man - Andy Serkis is amazing as always, but especially in this. Gave me the chills everytime Caesar spoke. Just great film all round. Highly recommended!

Need for Speed - 7/10

Surprised how good this turned out to be. It was like a big road trip movie... with car chases and explosions lol. Aaron Paul was very good and the supporting cast was also good. Story was a bit predictable and a few standard clichés but it makes for a great Saturday afternoon flick :) Recommended.

How to Train your Dragon - 7/10

Finally got around to seeing this as my cousins want to go to watch the sequel next week in cinema. Pretty good actually. I wasn't expecting much but this movie is quite hyped for being a really fun watch and something everyone can enjoy. It is definitely that! I wouldn't say it is the best movie to watch but a fun watch indeed. The use of 3D was great too which you don't often say. On towards the sequel!

The Amazing Spiderman 2

Better than the first I think but I still prefer Sam Raimi's Spiderman films with Toby as Spidey actually.
Still it was OK and worth a watch.
7/10

Captain America:The Winter Soldier

Also better than the first, and although I prefer Spidey as a superhero over the Captain this movie I think was actually better than Amazing Spiderman 2.
Some good fight scenes too.
I quite liked it suprsingly since I wasnt keen on the first.

A solid 7.5/10 from me.

------

300:Rise of an Empire

Not a patch on the first and although this movie takes place before, during and after the original it fails to capture anything that the first had.
Average at best.
Not sure how Haze can score it a 7.5,I think that's being very generous.:grin

4/10

A Haunted House 2 - 3/10

Crap and loud. There you go. Sums it up nicely. I actually thought the first one was ok. Then again I saw Scary Movie 5 the night before the first Haunted House so anything would of been better then that rotten egg. But this was just... awful. I'm not going to say anymore because I'll just keep stomping on this one lol.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space - 6/10

Ridiculous, in the best kind of way. Very out there but a good time. Definitely deserves its cult status. Best part? The Klown's dog ;)

Dallas Buyers Club - 7/10

Very good powerful film that you can tell they highly fictionalised the story, but it still comes across as very emotional and as I said powerful. Never knew much about the subject, but makes you realise how messed up the "system" is. Great performances all around, but I will admit that Jennifer Garner, whilst I like her, could of been played by anyone! (or technically no-one as her character didn't exist in the real life story :p)

Sharknado 2 - 6/10

What can you say about this one? You know what you're getting into. You know what you're going to see. Dumb fun. I will say it is slightly better then the first one, but come on... it's Sharknado! You know what type of movie it is. Negativity goes to Tara Reid though who was just plain awful in this. But hey, it's a Syfy movie.

The Signal

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2910814/

Was suprised, was actually quite good it's one of those movies where once you watch it all the way to the end you think "wow, that was actually quite good".
Cant say more than that but of you like sci fi with 'what the hell is going' and only in the end you do actually see then you will like this.

Not something I would watch over again type of movie but I would give it...hmm..hard one. 8/10.
You may not think it deserves it while watching for a while but trust me,once you get all the way through you will see why I scored it an 8. (I think..lol)

I am too lazy to write any quick reviews, but here are the scores to the last five film I watched. An [Re] indicates a rewatch.

Night of the Living Dead (1968) - 5/5
Yojimbo (1961) [Re] - 4.5/5
Tokyo Godfathers (2003) [Re] - 4.5/5
Cropsey (2010) - 2.5/5
The Queen of Versailles (2012) - 3/5

I watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes the other night. It wasn't a bad movie, i just expected a little more. It felt a bit claustrophobic, because the set was really limited. They always were in the jungle or in the city. I liked the firt one a lot more. The story was more interesting.

I, Robot - 7/10

Hadn't seen this since I saw it at the cinema when it came out. I remember not being overly fond of it, but it was pretty good this time around. Good story, and remarkable CGI (for its time which still holds up today believe it or not). Unfortunately it comes with those typical slow-motion Hollywood action shots that kind of take you out of the movie, but still was a good watch.

I agree as conventional as it is, the film is surprisingly not that bad. I think the last time I watched it I gave it a 6/10.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) -★★★★☆
Fistful of Dollars [R] (1964) - ★★★★1/2☆

the second one didnt have very many action seens

Ride Along - 7/10

I know it's not very liked, but I actually had a good time watching this. Maybe because I like both Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. I thought the later would of gotten annoying judging from the trailers but was wrong. It's not a movie that will be considered a classic. Heck, it'll probably be forgotten in a years time (except that the sequel is due out in 2016). Good dumb fun is what it is.

How to Train Your Dragon 9.5/10

I have to say I love this movie and was one of the finest and beautifully animated movies I have ever seen. Everything from the detail of the hair and outfits, characters and sets to the dynamic lighting that they employed truly sucked me into the movie. Not only that but it was extremely well written. The relationship between Toothless and Hiccup can be seen without words even being exchanged. Furthermore, the themes that were portrayed in the movie were very well written too. The biggest one was the relationship between Hiccup and his father and how disappointed he is that his son is not the Viking he wants him to be but eventually comes to accept and be proud of him. This is definitely a must see.

Guardians of the Galaxy - 7/10

Was pretty good. I feel it was a little over-hyped and that kind of damaged it for me, but it was still very good. One of the better Marvel films, definitely the funniest out of the bunch. Big points go to both Rocket Racoon and Groot. Would love to see a movie based on just these two characters. Bautista was actually very good in this. Never really saw him except maybe a couple times when I watched wrestling, but was very surprised how great he was. Also the soundtrack - big thumbs up from me :D I felt a little disappointed as I was looking forward to it for a long time but didn't turn out as fantastic as I hoped, but still very good.

On the weekend, i watched Get On Up and The Purge 2. They were both pretty good. Get On Up is a biography about James Brown. So if you're a music lover, you're in for a real treat. The purge 2 i liked a lot more than the first one. It didn't have a single boring moment. I really recommend both of them.
