Am I the only person not excited for Destiny?

Seems like Destiny is getting way too much hype. That news about pre-orders being cancelled by retailers because of high demand is ridiculous. Am I the only one that thinks that the game isn't very good? I tried the beta and thought it was pretty run of the mill stuff.

Same here mate. I guess all the hype stems from the game being made by Bungie and as we all know, they made the legendary game that is Halo so I guess people are curious as to what this new game might be. As for me, well I'm not so sure what to think about the game, I've played it first hand and it seems pretty much the same deal as every other game out there. I mean, don't get me wrong I like the game alright, I just don't find it that special.

I'm also putting my hand up. I believe it is way too hyped. It's nothing new. If Bungie were not behind this, not many people would be into it.

And yes, I played the Alpha and Beta and I'm sorry, but it's just nothing special or new.

This, there was lots of this.

Destiny takes a lot of elements from proven games and puts them together in a pretty package. Although I'll agree I don't think it is as groundbreaking as the hype would have you believe it seems to be a perfectly fun game. I'm not jumping for joy, but there is nothing else coming out around it I care about. So looks like I'll probably put a month or so into Destiny.

Destiny is neat and all but I'm pretty done with FPS games for awhile.. Unless they added extra elements or are fast paced. I'm just not too into them anymore.

I forgot to mention that the pre-orders are for its Limited Edition. Yup, so many people want it that some retailers had to cancel it because they are afraid that there won't be enough supplies. Here's the news:

On another note, it's not really very good, if anything I think Borderlands does it better for this kind of first person RPG. The only one thing that I thought is awesome is that soundtrack. Like Halo, the soundtrack is pretty amazing stuff.

Yeah this is pretty much how I feel towards Destiny. Nothing good is coming out soon, and Destiny looks to fill the lull until the holiday games are released. It seems like a well-rounded, finely crafted game and is more like Halo: the MMO with ADS. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Not at all.
