lock on target

OK. I am new to Play Station. I just got a PS4 and Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. In going through the training, I CANNOT figure out how to lock on target. I get close, press and hold L2, then kill. The guy says "You killed him, but you did not lock him". ????? I don't understand. What is it I am doing wrong? Please help get me through this elementary training so I can start playing the game.

I remember having issues with that part too, with the gun trial. I forget what to do though, its like you don't aim to lock on you just point and shoot with triangle or something. Sorry if that's not much help, I don't have the game anymore. I'd imagine you got well past that by now anyway.

Nope! Just got the game last night and still cannot get past this part. There is no gun. Just the hook on his arm. HELP!

Ok. I figured it out. I was HOLDING L2 instead of just clicking it. Works not. I am in training 2. Thanks!!!

Ahhh good to hear, and yeah it was a similar mechanic with the gun part, where its like press the button instead of hold. Glad you figured it out! :Onya
