Sony Xperia z3 remote play

Has anyone tried to use the remote play on this phone yet? I was wondering if you can link it up to another TV through HDMI and use it like the playstation TV accessory in another room? I'm due a new phone so this would be ideal. Although usually it's rarely this simple.

I was looking into this phone too. I remember the first time I saw the ad on tv and thinking, damn!! and my wife tried to flip the channel real quick because she knows how I am with the latest video game stuff. I liked my vita but it made my large hands cramp up and no accessory that I bought to help, worked either. The idea of being able to stream my ps4 on my phone that is mounted to an actual Bluetooth gamepad seems way too good. Let me know how it goes if you do get one. I'm not due for an upgrade till next year.

Ive just got this phone i didn't realise that you could remote play on it that how stupid I am lol
I'll have to look into it:)

I'm the same with the vita, the missing r1 and r2 spoils it for me. The dual shock work around is way too much hassle too switching accounts and everything. Why sony have dual shock support on the playstation TV and not the vita is beyond me.

Don't you love when that happens?

You would think that would be a no brainer. There are some compatibility issues for accessories that don't make sense to me and it's all Blue Tooth. Like the media remote for the PS3. I don't understand how it can't or they won't make it work for the PS4. Unless there is some real technical reason with the buttons on the controller vs. the Vita. With Playstation TV I can see how it can seamlessly work because those are just PS3 games and classic games. No differences in the controller. But the Vita is missing two of the shoulder buttons. But then again, you would think the buttons on the Dual Shock would just not work when paired with the Vita.

I do have one question on the Remote Play. Are they expecting to roll this out to other phones in the future or is this a feature solely for Sony phones?

I'm sure there is a way to get android phones to work with remote play. Sony only wants it on there phones as far as I can understand but someone's found ways around it. I was watching the work around on YouTube last night.

Have the link?

The principle behind the remote play seems pretty simple to me. All the phone is really doing is streaming the video over a wifi network and displaying it on the phone's screen.

It also needs the ability to recognize and interpret button commands from the gamepad.

I haven't posted enough to get link privileges yet but there's loads on YouTube. I don't have an android phone yet so not sure if it works. Not much hope for a windows phone I suppose.... Lol

Was there ever hope for a windows phone? ;)

Yeah, that's something I never thought about. The ps TV has an Ethernet connection, although my other TV is right next to the wireless router so it may not be an issue. I've decided I'm going to get the Xperia anyway so time will tell. Thanks.

My missus just got the Z3.Would be interesting to try this out. However our internet connection isnt the best so as mentioned in previous posts perhaps it wont work the best.
Will see.
