Update

Derri

Hey folks,

So I haven't been very active in these last few weeks because I've had some awful laptop issues which have prevented me from getting online and I haven't had too much time to look into the problems and fix them as I've been very busy with college.

I hope to have them resolved soon though and be back online :D

Not good enough Derri,Im afraid Im gonna have to ban you mate for not showing up enough... v:p :rofl

Derri! We miss ya!

Well I'm kind of back up and running, I had to reformat my laptop and I've now got windows 7 running on it which originally came with the system. However I've now hit a snag, every-time I go to download Windows 8 I keep getting an error. So I'll have to figure what's causing that and fix it as I don't want to do much with my laptop until I get Windows 8 back on. Hopefully by next week everything should be sorted.

lol

I miss being on here and talking to everyone. Hopefully I'll be back soon to give my pessimistic views on the world of Playstation and Gaming.

Okay so remember how I said I had fixed the problem or well was close to fixing the problem? Well turns out I haven't which is annoying. However, I think I've isolated the problem and I am close to fixing it. With any luck I'll be back later tonight :D

Well I think (and I say think) I've got everything fixed but only time will tell as I've thought I'd had it fixed twice now but I do think its fixed.

I should be back on more now :D

Update 2.0

So turns out the issue I had was not gone and I have now have sent my Laptop into the store to get checked out and hopefully repaired. I'll have my netbook that I used for college but that's slow as hell so I don't know if I'll be on much. I'll probably check in everyday either on my netbook or via phone but I doubt I'll post much. I'll keep the 12 deals of Christmas thread updated but that might be all.

Hey Der, why don't you use Tapatalk to keep up to date on the forum? It's not as great as posting on a computer but its something. I use it when I can't get on my computer (because of work and girlfriend commitments :) ).

As for your Windows 8 problems, here's what you do. Take the Windows 8 disc out of your computer, throw it in the trash, continue to use Windows 7 until 10 comes out next year :)

I have considered it mate but the thing is, using tapatalk is more hassle than its worth really, I'd rather check in on the forums in the odd moments I have access to a laptop/netbook/computer than try on my phone, especially because I know its just temporary. I have browsed and posted stuff on this forum before via my phone but its a lot of hassle. I know the app is supposed to make Vbulletin forums better to view on but its just a lot of hassle really.

While I think I liked Win7 more, I've gotten so used to 8 it just feels weird.

Anyway I should hear back today or tomorrow about my Laptop so I'm looking forward to that.

That pretty much sums up Tapatalk pretty well. I use it once in a while when I haven't been on in a while or can't get to a computer. Really mostly when I'm wasting time at my desk or sitting in a bar :)

I've got my laptop back and the issue has supposedly been resolved. I will be more active from now on.

Well, turns out the issue isn't fixed, I had the laptop back a whole 6 hours and the the issues started back up again.

Essentially when I put my laptop into sleep mode via the menu power settings or via closing the lid of the laptop, when I go to turn it back on via hitting the enter key or via the power button, it doesn't turn back on, you hear the fan engage and see the screen light up (goes from black, to that lit up shade of black) and then promptly does nothing. It won't even turn itself off after a period of time, I had to hard reboot it.

I got the laptop back today and I used it and it worked normally, then I had it in sleep mode for around 3 hours and went to start it back up and the problem is back. Those at the shop I went to did diagnostic tests for drivers, software, hardware, anti virus and malware tests and reported everything was fine, although they did change a power setting, 'fast boot up' as that's known to cause some odd power problems and she said that seemed to fix it but they only every tested starting it back up in sleep mode after it had only been in sleep a short while. Not when it had been in sleep mode for 3 hours or so.

So I'm taking it back up as they said they'd revisit the problem free of charge if it wasn't fixed.
