Bought mine 10/8 hardly use it switch on today & dead. Phoned playstaion and I've to return it to them for repair if can't be repaired they will send a refurbished unit. Pretty poor

That sucks. Not very common, that's for sure. I've had mine for over a year now, and play it just about every day.

If they cannot fix it surely you are entitled to a new one as its under warranty.

Playstation were only offering a refurb. Took it back to shop and they replaced no probs with a new one.

Great news, how tight is it when a company the size of Sony can only offer a refurbish if it cannot repair it.

I never go with those. I buy it and nothing happens. I don't buy it and it frickin breaks. I can't win

I was considering going with one those but decided against as here in AUS we have something called 'consumer guarrantee' which means by law we can still get and item replaced even after warranty has ended,how long after depends on what you pay for an item.
So you can't buy a $5 fan an expect it to last 5 years for eg.
But for the price of a PS4 at at launch one would think 3 or even 2 years is reasonable.
