The Crew needs PS+?

Does The Crew need playstation plus to play? On Best Buys website it states "Game will not function without an online connection". Will the game be like Destiny, you can play it, it is online and you can play for free but you do not get all the features unless you buy PS+?

I am not a social gamer, rarely ever played online with the PS3, I prefer offline story mode type games. Does The Crew have this?

its called the crew, the story of the game is your brother gets killed and a dirty cop frames you. you go undercover with this girl named zoe and you need to build your crew to catch both of the criminals. the world is constantly flowing with real people that you can ram into at high speeds, race with or against, or ignore them. the game feels empty withought it and you definitly should get ps+ for it
