Question: is anyone playing it at the moment? I am undecided about this game, I'm not sure if buying it or not. I have played a couple of FF in the past (PS2) and I liked them. But I also played FF XV on Xbox and I didn't like it at all because I dislike timed missions, when you have to accomplish something in a period of time. So I'd love to read comments from gamers actually using this game, thank's! :)

Question: is anyone playing it at the moment?

I'm about 20 hours into it right now, and I like it so far. I've played the majority of the FF games, and out of the last several this is probably my favorite. Some missions are timed, but I haven't run into a lot of those so far, and the ones that are seem to just be one certain bit of the mission then it's a little more free-wheeling.

Pros:
- Ability to play as 15 (I think it's 15, I may have that # wrong) different characters, as well as control Eidolons.
- "Task" system for little side missions, it's a neat way of doing things. It allows for some non-linear play but not nearly as much as the early FF games.
- They finally seem to have nailed down how to make the real time combat system work a little better. I loved the turn based system of games like FF7 and when they first switched I hated it.
- They do a good job of giving you a decent amount of history behind the story, things to read, etc...It's not just, "Go here. Kill this thing. Move on."
- Ability to adjust between 3 difficulty levels and replay missions to level characters and for greater rewards, gives the game some decent replay value.

Cons:
- Camera angles during combat sometimes get a little wonky.
- Some timed missions, but more annoying than that is the fact that the amount of time you have *between* missions is timed, and leaving your home area to go to the world map takes up 6 "hours" of that time automatically.

I can't really think of anything else I don't like about the game though, so I'd say it's worth buying if you're into FF games. Hope this helped!

Many thank's Krantz for you detailed description! :)

I see that the conceipt has not changed from FF XIII or XV episodes. What made me decide to give up with this series was just the bond to timing. Pity, because I like japaneeese type of games.

So... I got it used, played it, finished the story and also got the Platinum.

Not a bad game at all, the combat system is cool. Dealing with 10 different characters is amusing. Not an addicting game anyway imo.

:grin
