Looking for Games that don't require Internet

I'm looking for good games for our PS4 that don't require internet to play. We have no Internet, so any that require the PS4 to be online to play is not possible for us. If the game requires the player to be online in the beginning for some reason, please note what it needs so we can see if it would be possible to do at a friend's house so we can play it at home.

We like a variety of things. RPG, Action, Adventure, and a few goofy things like LEGO series come to mind. A lot of fantasy, historical settings (both real and fictional), and superheros. Good storylines are a plus. We usually go for an open world, but linear is fine if it's fun with a good story. We both do couch co-op, but never got into online multiplayer (including phone games). We also go for a good sandbox every once in a while like Sims or Jurassic World Builder and we both spaz out on Rock band. Neither of us are into FPS and the only recent shooting game we've enjoyed is The Last of Us. We never got into war games either.

Examples of series we enjoy: Elder Scrolls (especially Skyrim) Assassin's Creed, Arkham, God of War, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, LEGO (all of them), Rock Band, and Sims (3 is favorite) just to name a few.

On mobile, we have Plants vs. Zombies 2 (tower) Candy Crush Soda (puzzle), Jurassic Park Builder (sandbox and fighting), Mortal Kombat X (fighting), and Injustice (fighting).

Buy Witcher 3 - I just found an article on IGN which says it has no multiplayer! Also Tropico 5, if you can agree with the humour. No other suggestions sorry.

I should add that Tropico 5 is under 5GB so you can download it in fewer than 24 hours, even an ADSL 1 connection (copper wire) should be enough. I talked to EB Games and they said they hadn't seen any physical copies because obviously a 50GB bluray is stupid for storing a tiny game.

Thank you so much! I'll start looking them up. I could probably get my boyfriend to leave it at his friend's house when he goes to work and pick it up after. We can't do it all the time though. Maybe once a month?

What about Minecraft, Shadow of Mordor, Boarderlands, Final Fantasy (I think there were one or two that came out that weren't also for ps3?), Rayman, and GTA V? I've never played anything in the Dragonage series or the Portal series either, but the amazing reviews make me wonder if they're an option for us and playable since we haven't played the others in their series. Is Bloodborne offline and worth a look?

I'm open to any suggestions really. The only big no for us is FPS and current day warfare. I only listed games we are playing right now. I have an actual bookshelf full of games from SNES and PS1 forward and the only ones we haven't played through yet are 2 remastered editions and the 3 PS4 games we bought yesterday. (And technically Skyrim, but only because I can never agree that I've done everything and gotten 100% of everything everywhere which is half the fun of it!)

Minecraft and Borderlands you definitely can without internet. My fiancée and I were without internet when we first moved in to where we are currently living so we spent the time just playing Minecraft and Borderlands offline. Bonus is that both games are some of our favourites and is even better with another person (split-screen)

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD can be played offline, but Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is ONLINE ONLY so that cancels that one. Bloodborne you can play offline too.

Minecraft is the only PS4 game I've heard of which has split screen. The industry is killing LAN games and split screen as if those were worthless features.

I have mixed feelings about Driveclub. It doesn't have split screen - it's all about DLC and multiplayer. I got stuck half way through the campaign, and this time I really am stuck. I can't beat this stupid event in the mainline campaign so I don't buy DLC. There may be other racing games that have split screen. That'd kill time really well. Just read about them before you buy. One of the racing games I read about was basically a re-hash, plus more tits (not a "real" feature).

I think Minecraft will be our next purchase. My SO is unsure about Borderlands since he's unfamiliar with it, but I think it might be fun too. Bloodborne has high ratings, but I'm not sure what kind of genre it really goes in from a quick glance at reviews.

All the LEGO games have the split screen feature too. Driveclub sounds like a hot mess! I think I will stay away from it and play something more fun.

Well, we've been playing for a few days now and while I must say that the people who made the latest gen did a great job, they obviously have a blind spot when it comes to Internet and Internet speed. Things like being unable to so much as play a dvd without going online first is a little ridiculous. And it's not like I'm in an insignificant group. In the US as of 2014, 20% of people 18 to 29 did not have internet and goes down from there. Class wise, households with an income of under $30,000 were nearly a 50/50 split while households with $30,000-50,000 income only lacked Internet 30% of the time. There is also the factor that some Internet companies also limit the amount of data you can use before it either shuts off or costs extra. It's a big chunk of their market.

Gaming is also very popular among the lower income group from what I've experienced. My SO brings home well below $30,000 and so does his coworkers at the plant, but gaming is extremely popular there because most would rather spend their entertainment budget on games/dlc than other things (he and I figured out a long time ago that a new game and/or dvd box set/s costs about the same as a month of cable only with more hours of entertainment per dollar) and it really is a toss up rather they have Internet or not. I guess what I'm saying is that since gaming is such a big deal to us, it would be nice if they at least thought to include a disclaimer if a game requires occasional or constant Internet access. Enough people are offline that they should at least make a list. Being able to put individual game patches (I know they do it for overall system patches) and dlc on a flash drive so it wasn't so much of a hassle would be nice too. :\

What do you want to know about GTA V? The only online thing that matters in GTA V is getting the patch which improves the frame rate in busy city junctions. They also released a patch in early April which changes some graphical stuff which I really don't understand. Just get the patches that's the main thing.

GTA V is awesome offline. I tried playing online but I couldn't find an active clan LOL, PSN trial expired, and it's back to single player forever
