Your Favorite PS2 game

Of the hundreds of PS2 classics it's hard to pick one as my favorite. Good memories is all I'm basing mine off of and that game is Soul Calibur 2. SC2 was a masterpiece (for the time) and is regarded as my all time favorite fighting game ever. All of the story mode challenges and arcade mode runs, combined with the countless versus battles I've had with my friends make this game a prized gem in my mind.

What's your prized gem?

It was some Baldur's Gate. I don't know which one if there was more than one part anyway. Actually it wasn't even such an outstanding game but I have just good memories about it in another way.

Dunno about best or fav but some that stood out when first booted up was the first Medal of Honor on PS2,Frontline.Who can forget the opening beach landing level when the boats landed.
The first Mortal Kombat game was also cool..Deadly Alliance I think it was.

Killzone also was impressive,at least graphically.

Mine was GTA: Vice City or Fifa 06 them games were legendary i remember completing Vice City for the firs time the enjoyment of that :D and the Fifa 06 career mode was pretty good not the best but it was challenging.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. It was the best Metal Gear experience that the PS2 could offer. It was an enhanced version of MGS: Snake Eater. The main addition was the incorporation of a 3rd person over the shoulder view. It gave the game a lot more depth. I thoroughly enjoyed stealthily sneaking around corners and killing guards silently.

I would also like to mention Okami. It was a very beautiful game that was quirky and lighthearted and heartwarming at the same time. I spent hours just roaming the land and looking at cherry blossom trees and swimming in lakes and stuff.

GTA 3 was my all-time fav GTA game, that'd definitely be in there, pureply because i'd never played anything like it before. It was a true eye-opener.

I was also a big fan of the original red faction, i loved destructable environments.

I loved the original Red Faction. Nothing better than breaking stuff just because you can. I think Red Faction: Guerilla was really good too, a lot of fun moments. The latest one, Armageddon, was a disappointment though in my opinion. I think they had a good premise but just kind of fumbled a little.

In think that if they made Armageddon like Guerilla but with more weapons, vehicles and a more diverse color palette and textures it could've been a hit. Also setting it in an open world and returning to its FPS roots would've automatically made it better in my opinion.

My favorite PS2 game would without a doubt be Kingdom Hearts. I am a self admitted Kingdom Hearts fanatic and the first game in the series is responsible for that. What I love is how unconventional the game is, as it seems so strange to bring together characters from Disney and Final Fantasy along with a few original characters and have it work. Somehow, series creator Tetsuya Nomura managed to find a way to make it work. I'm definitely looking forward to playing Kingdom Hearts 3 on the PS4.

Although I technically played it on PS3, my favourite PS2 game is Jak II: Renegade. I was originally unsure about it because they completely changed it from the Banjo Kazooie formula of the first game but it eventually grew on me and I just loved all the freshness the game offered.

I had to sit and think about this question for quite awhile. There were plenty of games I loved but the best game was Dark Cloud, which was a Playstation exclusive. I not only liked Dark Cloud 1, but I loved Dark Cloud 2. If they made an HD remake with both of these games I would go ballistic. I would go even more insane if I found out they were making Dark Cloud 3. This series is probably one of the most underrated of all time! I would spend hours trying to upgrade my weapons and the story was decent as well. You definitely missed out if you didn't play either of these games.

If we are talking about exclusives ones, i would have to say God Hand. That is the only game that isn't ported to any other system, not remade in HD (seriously, Okami got one, why not this one?). I would have to say Viewtiful Joe, but seeing how it was on the Gamecube, i will skip it.

For me it has to be GTA: San Andreas and Metal Gear Solid 3 those two games I played more than any other games on the PS2. I still play MGS 3 to this day regularly and love the cinematic feel to it, albeit cheesy and over the top I love all the characters and Snake is a bad ass.

As much as I love Final Fantasy X, I would have to say my all time favorite would be Ratchet and Clank. I have never been able to get bored with those games and to this day can still play them and enjoy them as much as I did when I first got them. Interesting side note to that story...when I first heard about Ratchet and Clank it was through a demo disk I had received in the mail for being a part of the Playstation Underground at the time. I wasn't really interested because it was a shooting game and I just don't really enjoy shooting games as much as other games. (I have horrible aim and the only reason I loved MGS was because it didn't really require you to be that great with a gun). I popped in the demo though because it's unfair to judge a game I haven't played. After beating the first demo level I was hooked. It's actually thanks to Ratchet and Clank that I was able to improve my shooting skills...though the game doesn't really require you to aim often, there were some parts I needed to and it's really because of that game I can actually be semi-competitive these days in other shooting games...though I still usually get my booty handed to me. :)

So even though the game is considered a platformer, I would have to say that would be my favorite game on PS2. Not only did I enjoy it, but it also gained me a new respect and even liking for the FPS genre out there. It taught me games with guns can be fun. :) Especially if it's guns like the R.Y.N.O.! :D

That's a hard question, as PS2 still is, to date in my book, the largest and most successful console library in terms of the number of bestseller franchises. For every genre there are still too many candidates for 'best'. Somewhere between Silent Hill 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 2, Persona 3, Devil May Cry 3, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Disgaea, for me.

Tom Clancy Splinter Cell. Best stealth game of all time in my opinion. The game really tested my mental acumen. I loved every second of it.
