1 million+ pre-orders on the PS4

While the exact number was not disclosed, UK chief of Sony said that the number of pre-orders for the PS4 is greater than 1 million. For all we know, it could be 1,999,999 preorders right now. He also explained that it's way over the number of pre-orders the PS2 and PS3 received which is impressive, and shows how many fans they gained potentially after Microsoft's downfall at E3.

PS4 pre-orders are tracking "way over and above and beyond the pre-order number at launch day" of the PS2 and PS3, Sony Computer Entertainment UK chief Fergal Gara has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

This is fantastic news indeed. I reckon it's also due to the fact that the price is much much more affordable than the PS3 and even Xbox One for that matter.

And of course going by the pre release buzz and the good press it has been getting it was all but bound to happen.

I'm happy for Sony. They seem to have done a great job to get there.
The PS4 will go far for sure.

I never doubted for Sony. A million is already extraordinary. Imagine the results in the coming months. WOW.

The PS4 will simply become the ultimate games console.

Wow. Congratulations Sony!

But did you know that the Xbox One has got 5 Million pre orders? Lol. I'm kidding.

Do you know how much preorders the Xbox One got so that we could compare it to the performance of the PS4?

This is definitely great news for Sony and it only proves that they have been making all the right moves ever since they revealed the system back in February. From the hardware, software and the great price, the PlayStation 4 looks like it will certainly be the console to buy when it is released in November.

In every aspect, Sony have made the right decisions, in development and marketing. It's now paying off for them.

That's impressive to say the least. It seems as though they are out of the precarious mire they were in last year. All is well now and it's good news for gamers. We have voted with our wallets.

No, sorry, probably because they have 10,000 pre-orders? lol, maybe. Either way though, I believe both will sell out fairly quickly, and people will decide which is the better console depending on which one sold first.

It looks like the secondary market will be booming on Ebay and Craigslist. Is anyone planning on flipping their unit to someone else and collecting a nice, tidy profit? The numbers above look impressive. I once won the right to purchase two super bowl tickets and could have flipped them for a couple grand in profit but I held onto them. It's all about the experience and the memory.

Wow, with the price hike I didn't think it would take off as fast! Well then again, it's cheaper then the Xbox One so it may have got a lot of conversions from Microsoft.

Has anyone of you guys Pre Ordered it yet?

1 million and counting is not surprising to me. I would expect nothing less from one of the new Gen systems. The Playstaion 4 sales will easily break the billion mark in pre-orders eventually. It will easily sell a million on its release date as well.

Well done Sony. But it was stated by an expert that Xbox One ill outsell PS4 in UK by the end of this year.

That could use some evidence to back that claim, not that I necessarily disagree. Because believe me, having Battlefield maps a month earlier is not as good a selling point as being much cheaper. I do believe, at this rate of pre ordering, PS4 could very well hold the crown by the end of Christmas.

Not sure how much the difference of the numbers is from the previous consoles, but it must have been significant enough to be worth mentioning. I really like how they have been representing themselves this generation, and hopefully now that they have found success they don't do anything to screw it up. I'm more confident in them now because I think they have grown as a company unlike when they were still in the PS2/PS3 days.

This had to happen, Playstation 4 is a hit even before it has launched. It will be great to play new games on the Playstation 4, I am eagerly waiting for it on seeing the statistics of its pre-order.

Recently, I heard that the PS4 had reached 1.5 million pre-order.
It never ceases to grow.

At its output, the console will be a commercial success. It looks like the success of the PS2.

Sony also began to be confident, but as the proverb says it best: Never sell the bear's skin before one has killed the beast.

I have say hats off to Sony. They have done extremely well since they came out with the first Playstation and I think that thay will only get better in the years to come. I can't wait to get a PS4. I know I will have to wait a bit but I am definitely getting one. I also can't wait to see what the future holds for Sony.
