12 GB PS3 now available in North America

To be honest it's useless buying a PS3 with such a low harddrive. I own one with 320GB harddrive and I still find it inadequate.

Especially since I am a member of PS Plus I am always downloading games and they take up approx 10GB each time, so it's really a hassle.

I would stay away from this, unless I can afford to change the hard drive myself to 500GB.

It's a good option for those who already have a spare HDD lying around I guess...
but without that I really don't see the point. Just as I didn't quite see the point in that Wii without online or GC backwards compatibility.

Great stuff for people playing on a budget , I personally already own a PS3 so I don't need it. But I think that in the current recession, there is a lot of interest for cheap gaming and this might become very popular round Christmas time, it could make for a good present for a young child because it doesn't really matter if it breaks.

Well, 12gb is honestly pretty useless, specially for Plus subscribers. I mean, I grab this bundle, I download Demon's Souls and... what next? I already have no space on my HDD because it's just 12gbs and Demon's Souls alone is 8gb or so. I couldn't even download something like Uncharted 3.

Whenever I buy a PS3, I'll grab whichever version has the biggest HDD.

This. They keep shoving the digital age down our throats, but then release stuff like this? I guess it's useful for people that have a broken PS3 and want to exchange and/or have a spare HDD. But for all the others, as soon as you get a game or get PSN Plus, you download one game and that is it, you are out of space.

Same here man. I just don't think version is of any use unless someone has a good 200-300 GB external hard drive. It's going to be impossible to play and store games otherwise.
