2nd controller

hi I have tried to connect in vain to connect a 2nd controller,i have watched several utube vids about it. they say connect to charge lead and a window will open with logged in and new user. I have tried
time and time again but no window, the controller flashes white for a few seconds and then stops.im at a lost as what to do and my friend does not know, any help will be received with many thanks in advance.

You should just be able to plug the charging cable to the controller and then to the PS4 and hit the PS button on the controller while the PS4 is on. At least that is what I did and it pairs every time I need it to.

hi I tried that several times and nothing happened, but saw a uTube vid which said go to setting blue tooth and press the share button first and then the ps button. I did this and it saw it and turned red problem solved

So many stupid quirks that makes this console a bit complicated for a user. The important thing is your problem is solved
