A new Star Wars game

I loved playing the single player Star Wars games in the Jedi Knight series, I loved the fact you could pick and choose what you looked liked and what force powers you could use. To my dismay though, I am yet to see a new game in this vein. I would love a new Star Wars game thats single player, none of this MMO cashing in business! I read online several days ago that Disney have closed LucasArts and are selling the license to Electronic Arts to develop future games.

I've seen the clips from Star Wars 1313 and thought it was dead and buried, perhaps not though, rumour has it that part of the deal with EA is that they finish the development on 1313.

I don't normally play them type of games but i'm thinking of getting this one as it seems pretty promising, if its like maybe one or two of the ones i've played then ill get, battlefront was pretty good.

Hey, i really wanted a new Battlefront, but after seeing that Battlefront 3 is going to be released by EA, i don't know anymore. I think the last thing i would want right now is a reskin of battlefield 3 with a star wars theme. Also, Origin only on the PC is guaranteed, which is a complete turn off for me.

As Solaris said I also really want to play Battlefront 3 but I hope it's not just Battlefield: Star Wars, if so I would be quite let down. While I'm stilling hoping that this pulls through and ends up being good Origin certainly is a bit of a turn off, though I might still end up getting it if good enough.

The bad news is, they have scrapped the deal now. So, the game is in limbo now. I wonder if it would ever come out, especially after it has switched so many hands. The burning question is, would it be any good even if it comes out someday? I don't think so. It's going to be like Duke Nuke, Forever or Aliens: Colonel Marines.

I am actually one of those who did not like the Force Unleashed games. I thought they were the videogame equivalent of poor fanfiction. That being said, I was impressed by the 1313 previews and development, and crushed when they canned the studio and project. It had such compelling design and a strong original story. Something like that which expands the universe without trying to cash in on cameos and setpieces is what really interests me. That's why I feel the new Battlefront game has a lot of potential, provided they do more than JUST the battles from the movies (they should have all of them, but not JUST them).

I never thought 1313 looked that good. It looked like unchartered in space or something. What I would really like to see is someone reviving the rogue squadron series. Those games screamed Star Wars.

I've really enjoyed the Battlefront franchise but I really don't know what to think about Battlefront 3. I just feel like it will be a bit of a mockery of the original, EA will just make it into 'Star Wars Modern Warfare' with lense flare everywhere. I hope that they prove me wrong, but I don't really hold high hopes for that game.

I'm interested to see what they have to offer. I think I heard that Visceral were working on a Horror themed Star Wars game, and that sounds really interesting, but I guess everything is speculation at this point.

Yeah, Star Wars 1313 has been canceled for a few months now, since LucasArts got closed down. Odds are it'll never see the light of day.

I really dont trust EA having the rights to a series like Star Wars. They often rush things to get them out as soon as they can instead of polishing their game and making it a beautiful and fun experience. I do not despise them or think they arent good at making games but they just let me down a lot A new singleplayer Star Wars game would be so amazing though! When i first heard about SWTOR i thought it was going to be a new singleplayer sequel to Knights of The Old Republic but i was sadly mistaken.. All we can really do is cross our fingers as you said, and hope!
