Angry Birds Star Wars $40! You have to be kidding me!

Releasing a flash/browser-style game on smartphones and making it so that everyone would need to sell their games for peanuts to move millions and millions isn't changing video games forever, though. They make it seem like they've released a game that is different from person to person, is the game that person wants most, and released it for peanuts.

The owner obviously has problems fitting in a room with his ego. If Rovio (Angry Birds) is a video game revolution then I want out :)

I'll give them a slim bit of a benefit of the doubt that Hed and company have some plan to make Angry Birds into an actual revolution.

Well you have to give it something. It might actually do something totally outside the box and not just a kart racing game which has been done several times over. They might change it up, make Angry Birds 3D and make it a first person...physics game.

This reminds me of worms which itself was pretty much a clone of scorched earth. They created Worms 3D and the game lost it charm and fun. For anyone who has originally played the 2D Worms games, you will see how similar it is to Rovio's Angry Birds many years before.

Yes, when Worms went 3D, I completely lost my interest on it, it was so much better on the 2D scenario.
I'm going to play it again, thanks for reminding me of that awesome game! On 2D of course. :p

You're right, Worms was better 2D...and was pretty much Angry Birds before Angry Birds.

Angry birds has always been and always will be a total sham. Go play "Crush the castle", its predecessor for a more exciting "Knock things down" experience.

Angry Birds GO is not working out well for Rovio. People do not want the pay to win model. They should stick with their 99 cents model.

If the price made any sense, I would point to the royalty fees for using the Star Wars license, but since it is a lot cheaper other platforms, there is no way that I would be paying $40 for a game that I can get for less than five on my tablet.

All the Angry Bird games are 99 cents on Android and IOS and of course free if you don't might ads.

I assume that at a buck a pop that Hasbro gets a nice cut off each sale and if you sell 10 million on a phone/tablet, it is a great model. Sony will be lucky to Sell 1000 copies of Angry Birds for $40 bucks.

I really thought the phone/tablet model would work out great. Developers can charge $1 - $10 bucks for their games and have huge potential audience. They only have to pay for the developer fees and split the money with Apple or Google. Too bad it is going to pay for the item you need to make it through level 1. I am only speaking on Angry Birds Go now.

I would like to add that I only started this topic hoping people would see it that maybe did not realize this is a $1.00 game that Sony is trying to rape people on. I think Sony will win this generation of console wars but they need to do it the right way.

What the hell? It's kind of like Call of Duty games. I went to gamestop and found Black Ops 1 and it was 50 bucks, brand new. That came out like 3 years or so ago. STILL 50 DOLLARS!

Most here knew that the game hitting consoles was shammy as soon as we saw the download size of it last month. Something was just...not right about it.

It was already this expensive when it came out for PS3 and I don't understand why people pay that much for a port of an android game that costs around 1$. It's just an absurd amount of money, but I guess the devs won't make it cheaper if people keep buying their overpriced games. For me 40$ is already a lot of money for a full game, but it's absolutely ridicolous for an android app for my TV.

This is 2nd hand info but I did read where the creator of Angry Birds and I guess president of Rovio made a statement a few years back how they will change the video game industry forever. So far, all I have seen is more of the same with Angry Birds Space, Bad Piggies, and more of the catapault type games that use to be around on 8 bit computers. Rovio didn't do anything more than catch lightning in a bottle with cute artwork,

Popcap is the only casual gaming company that made truly great games and then Electronic Arts bought them and turned them into a pay to win model for all games.

Yeah I've read that too somewhere. Rovia is just a greedy, money-hungry company that sells remakes of simple games as innovation. I did play some of the angry birds games on Android, but I'm gonna avoid it for any console. I actually want people to boycott it, because it's ridicolous to pay 40$ for such a simple game, but I'm sure there'll be enough people who are gonna buy it anyway.

Since Angry birds is $40, I really don't mind that I spent $30 paying for Metal Gear: Ground Zeroes. That was actually an incredible demo, but paying $40 for something you could have gotten for free on mobile? Pardon me while I go punch myself in the face for every person that paid that much. I'm assuming a lot of people actually bought the game without realizing how much of a ripoff it was/is.

Probably had kids have their parents\grandparents buy them this game as a gift not knowing it is a 99 cent game on Android/IOS.
