Anyone concerned this game has no reviews yet?

I have this game pre-ordered Watchdogs on Amazon just so that it will be delivered on Launch Day and I don't have to worry about going by somewhere to pick it up. However, I may cancel the pre-order since I expected there to be reviews out by now. I basically need to cancel before Monday morning.

I am also concerned on how the graphic quality of the game has gotten worse since the original E3 footage,

I debated whether to buy it for my by PS4 or my Steam PC. I decided to go with the PS4 because of the extra content even though I know the PC version will look better.

I am hoping this game is at least a 8.5/10 game or better but a a bit nervous about this games with all the delays and graphical changes over tine, It is also very disappointing that there is no 1080p or 60fps on this game. It looks like Ubisoft was too aggressive I showing what they expected the console versions game to look like,

Embargo on most games isn't lifted until launch, it's not like Watch Dogs is the only game that does that. If reviewers don't get review copies early it is usually a bad sign, but that isn't the case with Watch Dogs.

Plus reviews aren't everything. If what you've seen for Watch Dogs appeals to you you'll probably enjoy regardless of what score a random person chose to give it.

That's exactly what's going on, so there's nothing to worry about. Nothing so far has made me think it's going to be a bad game, either.

It's funny though how all thee games that get ranked 9.5 out of 10 on average are reviewed two weeks before release.

To be fair though, I would have ordered this just for the homage to Carmageddon alone. This is only the 4th game I have preordered few days ahead so it would be at my door for whenever I get home on release day. So far I am 3/3 in playing the games all the way through.

Most outlets don't even get review copies until a week or 2 before a game comes out, so that their reviews can be ready for when the embargo is lifted on release day.

The odd game here or there that publishers have a lot of confidence in will have an earlier embargo sometimes, but it definitely isn't the norm. And I can't think of a Ubisoft title that's done it. (It may have happened, I just don't pay much attention to embargoes that I don't have to)

Watch Dogs is an open world game, I believe reviewing it takes a lot longer than normal linear games.

I know Gamespot is currently reviewing, but it might come out on 27th or at best on 26th.

I doubt it will get below 8 score.

All the videos of the game look great, and to be honest it is one of the most anticipated games so far - it will be good, just trust me ;)

Yeah a lot of people have played it already. A lot of stores are selling them early illegally or post offices mailed it early. Embargoes don't lift until launch date so it's nothing new. There have been leaked versions for PC on Pirate Bay I think. I think I'll wait for reviews though. Doesn't look too different from GTA IMO.

This game looks nothing like the footage they showed and advertised as PS4 footage and it is a complete GTA ripoff which is very disappointing. I played games that looked just as good as this on the PS3 3 plus years ago. It seems like a 7.0 - 7.5 game at best to me. I should have waited 3 months and picked up the Steam version when the price drops way down.

I guess I am done pre-ordering games from Amazon as I can wait for a few extra days and make sure the game is good. This game is also getting the benefit of the doubt from bigger sites but it is very average and has a crap driving system IMO>

I do think Game Developers should not release separate trailers for the PS3 version and PS4 version and then later say that's what they expected them to look like. They should only be allowed to real footage and show it on their commercial. You are going to disappoint people by showing a shiny beautiful product and then release something that looks no better than any Ps3/360 game.

Ubisoft is definitely gone way down inn my book off this GTA clone.

The reviews were delayed at Ubisoft made the people who released a review copy sign an embargo. The reviews are in now and they look very positive with some complaints that the game suffers from bugs in places.

The game has mixed reviews overall. I really believe that the bigger sites (cough IGN cough) are giving it higher scores based on all the hype and years of covering it. It seems like a decent game and maybe it will get better when I am into it deeper. However, the graphics look nothing like the original PS4 trailers they showed. It is not even close. I don't even consider the PS4 version to be a next gen game.

FOr anyone who on the fence about buying this game, I would wait until it drops down to $29 - $39. Ubisoft was not able to deliver what they promised and showed a high end PC graphics for their E3 build but the graphics were based on their hopes and not reality. I really don't think they tried to make better versions fro the PS4/Xbone. I think they did ports as quickly as possible.

The PS4 needs a true next gen game. Infamous Second Son is good and next gen but the weakest of the three games and certainly could have been better.

1.) IGN scored the game a 8.4. The Metacritc is an 8. An eight is a respectable and appropriate score in my opinion. Are you judging the game simply by how it looks? There is a lot to do here and a lot to invest one's time in. Review websites do not just focus on how a game looks...
2.) It has been known for the longest time that the game would not look like it did years ago.
3.) I agree it does not quite feel like a next-gen (current gen) game. I am still having a lot of fun with it. I mean, it does at times, but at others it just seems sort of... I don't know... strange. Maybe it is all that brown. Second Son is good, not great. Watchdogs is thus far better in my opinion. I am too lazy to back this up.

I am judging 9it overall. Great Graphics can make a very good game great. This game has been hyped so much that I feel it is getting a full point above what it deserves. The review sites tend to be more vulnerable to the hype than end users.

I will gladly concede that taste is subjective but I am one of many who feels like Ubisoft promised a new high in gaming with a great playing game. great graphics, and original game play. I feel like got Assassin's Creed 8:GTA instead of a truly original new IP.

Feel free to disagree but considering all the hype and pre-release awards this received, I say rent it first. This game would probably have been better off without all the hype as it may have caught people by surprise as a good GTA Clone with some unique aspects. However, if this was not released big publisher like Ubisoft who released it then I believe it would be sitting with a 70 - 73 metacritic score.

This is really interesting thread.

The thing i am unsure about is if the PS4 version isn't really that ground breaking, would getting the PS3 version still give me the experience ? I know some MP aspects of the game aren't on the PS3 version compared to the PS4, but are people playing that side of things anyway ?
