Anyone with thumbpad problems?

In reading more and more peeps having issues with the rubber wearing out and splitting. Just ordered some covers from Amazon for preventive measures. Got the console a few days ago so can't speak for its thumbpad durability personally.

I've played mine for at least an hour a day almost everyday for the past month, and my thumbsticks show absolutely NO signs of wear. I also bought some ORB thumbstick covers (concave and convex). But I purchased them as a mistake from Ebay, I thought I was getting thumbstick extensions. I also played my 360 for 6 years with the same two original controllers with very little thumbstick wear. Maybe I am just not as hard on my stuff as others, or maybe I happend upon the most rugged controllers out there. LOL

seriously? How do you wear that thing out? What are their hands made of, sand paper... I've seen an felt the tuch pad, thing seems like it would survive a nuclear hollocaust...

Nice of them to replace them, however most people have probably only got the one controller - by the time it is sent to their nearest Sony warehouse, it could take up to 3 weeks for them to get a new controller back?

Or is it take it to the shop you purchased from?

The only problem I have is that the left one for some reason sometimes gets a little slippy to grip. Could be moisture as some nights better than others,, or maybe my left thumb just sweats more than my right lol. I have been quite hard on them in the past with the PS3 ones. In Fifa I often play a lot of quick sharp movements / skill moves so I used to end up with a little hole burrowed down on the top of the left one where my thumb ttip or nail could hold it without it moving at all.

Been thinking of investing in some covers with grips before I do em any damage.

Well,from the people that Ive heard had this problem they took theirs back to place of purchase and had it replaced.

I bought the Grip-it covers from Amazon. They also fit the PS3 and 360 sticks. Feel great and are cheap. A little less abrasive than stock.
