Atmosphere and Depth. The Perfect Game.

Hello! Let's share our favorite atmospheric PS3 games. If you don't know what I mean, here's an example:

Fallout 3.

Sounds and sights that immersed you in the game. You feel as though you are truly there and living the experience. I have a fascination with these types of games, and I know I'm not the only one.

Another perfect example is Metro: Last Light. The first time I stepped out of the metro tunnels, my jaw dropped.

Metro: Last Light is a REALLY good example actually. When your character brushes the gunk off his visor... That is such an awesome feature.

This might sound lame, but Minecraft is a good example atmosphere. I first played it on the PS3 and was amazed at how vibrant and mysterious the world was. The ominous sounds you hear when coming across a dungeon or mine...

Fallout 3 is one of those games I'd put in the "perfect example" category. With the in-game history of what happened to DC stepping out of the Vault for the first time and your eyes having to adjust briefly was really amazing. The landscape was tremendous as well and really played into the "this is a game that is meant to be empty" approach. That same emptiness added to some pearl clutching when you finally did come across some enemies while traveling. Especially the Deathclaw just lingering around in a odd place.

My only criticism for Fallout 3 and most Bethesda open world RPGs is the lack of emoting and gesturing when someone is talking. After playing Mass Effect I'm kinda use to have a fuller range of emotion from NPCs while playing.
