Battlefield Hardline.

My son has just phoned to say it has been delivered (good news for all who pre-ordered it from Tesco) i guess it will be late tonight before i get my hands on it.

Has anyone here got it and is playing it now? first impressions would be welcome.

Well here is my mini review.

I used to be a run and gun type of player so i was expecting the stealth part of this game to get on my nerves, having played a couple of hours of the single player i can honestly say for me it makes a the game better, rewards for silent take-downs to earn unlocks (as explained below) makes me want to play silently rather than run and gun, if you are the guns blazing type of player don't let this put you off as it says below - "single-player campaign can be approached in a direct way with guns blazing, the preferred tactic is stealth" .

While the single-player campaign can be approached in a direct way with guns blazing, the preferred tactic is stealth. Taking down criminals non-lethally earns bonus points toward Expert Level. Increasing this rank unlocks better weapons and gadgets, so it is well worth the effort. There are various techniques that aid in this endeavor. A flash of the badge freezes up to three perps, giving you an opportunity to handcuff them with little confrontation. Tossing a shell casing from an endless supply attracts the attention of a nearby enemy, allowing you to take him down out of sight. The minimap displays vision cones for nearby bad guys, letting you stay just out of view. Crouch and these cones become smaller.

I will probably finish single player before moving on to multi-player so if anyone has anything to add feel free.

I'm episode 9, single player was quite good, better than Call of Duty's or previous battlefields. I wish the campaign was longer though.

Just finished Episode 4.. Love the story so far!

I really loved the Conquest PvP mode (32v32) in Battlefield 3 and 4.... This one... It's ok, just too many close quarter maps. I like the massive expansive maps. Hopefully there's a few in the DLC's.

I usually only play team death match but having read about the different game modes i will be giving them a try.

Game Modes

Battlefield Hardline features a total of seven game modes. Two are returning from previous Battlefield games, while the other five are new twists on old game modes or brand new all together!

Blood Money is an objective game mode that pits cops and criminals against each other in a fight to seize a large sum of money from the opposing team.

Conquest is an objective game mode where two teams fight over control of several flag set around the map.

Crosshair is a half objective and half death match game mode. The cops must escort a VIP to an extraction point, while the criminals fight to eliminate him before the time runs out. No vehicles, and no respawns!

Heist is an objective game mode where the criminals try and blow open a vault and escape with the cash. Meanwhile the cops try to prevent the robbery and the criminal's escape.

Hotwire is a game mode where cops chase down criminals at high speeds across expansive environments.

Rescue is an objective game mode where the authorities try and save hostages from their captives.

Team Deathmatch is a game mode where two teams fight to the death. No vehicles allowed!

I have now finished the single-player (it was excellent) and have had my first few games of team death match, with so many players in the map it can get a bit manic and even though i was one of the lowest ranks with the weakest load out and the least knowledge of the maps i didn't do too badly, i will give the other game types a look as the week progresses.

How many hours did it take for you to beat the game? Worth the money?

Somebody mentioned earlier in the post that it took 8 hrs to beat the game on veteran difficulty. If he did that a playing mostly in stealth mode then expect the campaign to be shorter if you are the run and gun type of player playing on a lower difficulty.

I don't think any EA game, especially battlefield is worth my $60. I will probably wait and pick it up when a price drops less than 30$.

By the way, thanks for that..... I've made my verdict......
I'm not getting it.... Cheers mate!
Will definitely check it out when the price drops has stated above.

It probably took around 8 hours to complete single player and for me it was worth the money as i intend to also play the multi-player to death.
