Best game graphics-wise?

The last of us for sure.
BF3, Uncharted 3 and GoW:Ascension also have amazing graphics.

If you ask anyone maxing out PC games they will always go to Crysis,
For PS3 The Last of Us put graphics, and sound together really well, same as Tomb Raider.
But I will go with God of War Ascension and God of War 3 just because I'm more attached to the scenery.

I've never played Last of Us, so I pick Tomb Raider. Honestly, they all equally amaze me at this point. I've never really paid much attention to graphics, but with the current standards, it's almost impossible to ignore and rightfully so, I say. It's spectacular, and deserves some recognition.

I always thoguht that Uncharted had really great graphics. I was impressed with all games in the series in terms of graphics. Crysis when I first played it blew me away so I think that game definetely is worth the mention. The Last of Us, I've somehow never played however the graphics do look really impressive. I can't belive I forgot about this title!

That doesn't make sense. You can make the same point about any game - the point of graphics is using what is available to the best of your abilities in a way that means your aesthetics. I mean think of one game that doesn't make usage of colors and light.. seriously.

I think he was referring to the fact that TLOU looks great because of the art direction and style of the game, not because of the technical prowess of the console and the amount of polygons being rendered on the screen. A game can look aesthetically pleasing without using 5000x5000 textures, strong art direction and style does WAY more than numbers.

I have to agree, The Last of Us looks absolutely stunning.

Can I mention which was the worst looking game I've ever played on PS3?

Red Dead Redemption by far. The resolution, blur and overall quality of it was terrible. I knew it had issues and that it looked worse on PS3, but damn, I never expected it to be this bad.

The fact that you all seem to have forgotten the word Crysis while putting out stuff like Last of Us and Battlefield is kind of insulting. I'll just leave these here for you peasants.

Well, this is to discuss PS3 games and I don't think Crysis was released on PS3 (but it was on X360, eventually). It IS a good looking game, though! Fun game too, actually.

I'm with you on The Last of Us, the graphics blew me away in that game. I'd even say it's the best I've ever seen. Not only are the graphics great the story is great too. I thought it might be just like the other end of the world games but it's much better. The graphics though, are spectacular. I don't know too much about what goes on to make games but even I can appreciate what the developers did. The game is beautiful.
